What's new

Told you Rubio is not going to help us. He's a backup PG at best.

Lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololo

A lot of Minny fans are looking pretty dumb right now for making Ricky a scapegoat and believing he was the problem. A bunch of Jazz fans bought into that theory, but hopefully they've come to their senses. Considering his play on both ends of the floor, Rubio is completely underrated as a PG. Dude is a straight up G.

lol. All the strange Rubio hate that came out of the gate was so strange and misguided. He's been so consistently good for us since game one and I don't like to imagine what this season would be like without him. He's a stud and is going to have a career year with this team.

In 6 seasons in Minnesota, he had a TOTAL of 22 games with 20+ points. In Utah, he’s had 3 in his first 8 games. Whatever Quin is doing with him, I like it.

Hell, the Jazz were able to turn an almost-30-year-old NBA reject into a valuable/legit starter in the NBA w/ a $50M contract (Joe Ingles), should we be surprised that the Jazz are able to untap the potential of a highly regarded point guard that spent his entire career on one of the most dysfunctional/****ty teams in the NBA for the past 6 seasons? I honestly am not surprised.

I said before it's simply a matter of finding his stroke. Hope he keeps it up. And yeah, whatever Coach Q is doing with him, I'm good with it.

Good defense plus Rubio’s pace is a fun thing to watch. As the rest of the team learns how to keep up with that and turnovers go down. . . this team should start pulling away instead of letting it stay close. Feels like they’re just on the cusp of that.

I think Ingles always had the goods - he was just overlooked because he doesn't look like an NBA player.

Apparently Doc Rivers did everything he could to keep him in LAC but the numbers just weren't there. I also heard Doc personally called QS about Ingles after they cut him - if that's they case Utah owes him one.

11/11 on fts for Rubio

meanwhile Gobert is shotting a higher FT% than Gonzo Ball

I’m loving what Rubio is doing. He still needs to work on his P&R timing with Gobert and Favors and get his turnovers down. . . But he’s playing exactly like Quin wants him to. And the results are even better than expected. I can’t wait to see how his game will continue to evolve with more time in the system and work with his teammates. He’s a perfect fit for Utah. Just need to square up the PF/SF spots and roles and this team is back in business.

3/12 today.

0/4 from 3.

4 turnovers.

you still think rubio is going to get 20-30 a game?

Rubio's three game streak of scoring 20+ finally came to an end and yamers is gloating about it.

What a garbage fan.

yet hood had a better game than rubio and everybody is blaming hood and ignoring the poor game rubio had today

They had equally bad games:

Hood scored 17 on 41.8 TS%, and had 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 turnovers
Rubio scored 13 on 43.1 TS%, and had 3 assists, 1 steal, 4 turnovers

I doubt people would be criticizing Hood very much if he had also just come off three great games though.

Because Hood is expected to be the leading scorer.

Rubio scoring anywhere between 12-18ppg is great for us (along with decent fg%). So far his scoring has been much higher than his career avg and what everyone expected at the start of the season. Even without scoring 20+, he still contributes in other ways, particularly defense. He's been a starter in the league for years now, you are the only one who is begging to bench him.

It was probably the worst game by Rubio today. He should be averaging 7-8 assists with his eyes closed just on a Rudy pick and rolls. I really hope their chemistry will start clicking soon.
