Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

I like Neto but he isnt an important factor for our team now or in the future. If he nets you an asset you should take and and not look back.

If Neto gets a bigger trade done or if he gets you a pick, do it.

Depends. He’s close with Rudy. He’d be a great backup and is restricted.

He’s shooting 48% from three and has looked better driving this year.

Not giving him away for a 2nd round pick from 40-60... if we had to include him in a deal to get something big then obviously you do it.

Care to elaborate?

He didn’t really just said sorry not happening. Paid too much in his opinion... it’s basically what Rodney would get... I don’t view him as overpaid.

I'm trying to envision what we could pick up with Neto or what type of deal would hinge on him being included and I'm kind of at a loss. I'm pretty certain his value to us is higher than what anyone else would value.

Who I would trade if it makes sense:
Hood
Favors
Burks
Rubio
JoeJ
Udoh
Thabo
Bradley

Who I wouldn't trade:
Mitchell
Gobert
Exum
O'Neale (contract too good)
Neto (contract too good, still improving, fit on roster, contract)
Ingles (we need the stability he provides)
Jerekbo (great contract, great attitude)

Then he's speculating and he's also wrong. The contract is very good.

I like Tony but he has some odd player opinions sometimes. Remember him not liking Niko Love etc and making it out like those guys are trash.

If you ask me and it was trading Hood for Evan straight up I’d do it because I think Hood gets more than I’d want to pay. If you take AB off my hands too then I’m feeling great.

Everyone is available for the right price. The right price for Mitchell and Gobert is very, very high.

Definitely true. If somebody wants to give us $10 for something worth $5, then we do it. If somebody gives us $10 for something worth $9, I don't think it's worth it. Roster stability, continuity and personalities mean something more than a slightly better asset. I hope we don't lose sight of that in the upcoming days.

You are correct. I see it like this - the risk must be relative to the potential reward. A guy like Hood has been a solid pro and good player. He's never been exceptional but he's always been good. He'll never be a star. He has missed 25% of games during his career which means there is a slight concern from an injury perspective. I consider Hood a Medium Risk Medium Reward.

Parker is High Risk High Reward. At 21, he was scoring 20+ points and getting almost 7 rebounds per game. His injuries are scary, but he's a beast if he can stay healthy.

Exum is another example of a High Risk Medium to High Reward. Two major injuries but the potential to be incredible due to physical abilities.

As a small market franchise, I would rather take a chance on a High Reward player than settle for a Low to Medium Reward player. In a very practical example - we should have matched on Wes Matthews instead of settling on Raja Bell.

The thought process makes sense but how high of a reward do we think? Championship contenders? Hood on a team-freindly deal may allow you to add another superstar. Jabari would not.

Maybe this has been discussed and I missed it. But what kind of value does Tony Bradley have in the trade market? Right now, I have to think not much. I never really understood why the Jazz were so in love with him.

His worth is measured in DL shower boners.

I think Jabari is a future All Star (I'm not saying every year All Star, but I think he makes at least 1 All Star Game if not more). I don't think Hood is ever an All Star. I do have some concerns about finances, but then again, by the time Mitchell and Gobert need to get paid again, Ingles is gone or almost gone.

Mitchell (does everything), Jabari (dynamic scorer) and Gobert (best rim defender in the game). Those 3 would seem to fit very well next to each other. Very well.

Bradley is a numbers guy’s wet dream. He was a late first round pick/second round pick who looked to be a top 10 pick the following year.

He is a guy I’d pretend doesn’t exist, then view him as a rookie next year.

I'm fine with a guy taking some time to develop... I just didn't get the idea with Tony. I've seen some compare him to Lamarcus Aldridge... I don't see that at all.

I see what could be a nice backup big... you know what this league has a **** ton of? nice backup bigs... and they are super cheap. I just wanted to take a bigger swing.

I would 100% love to be wrong on this.

Hey, maybe he could even be rookie of the year next year. The next Ben Simmons aka non-rookie ROY.

I think they want to mold him from the get-go for the offense they want to play. Imagine a world where The Jazz development staff got their hands on Derek Favors before he wasted all of that time with New Jersey and Ty Corbin. That is why they are so high on Exum, despite the setbacks. Hell, just look at the development of Donovan Mitchell. Haywood didn't really make a leap until Snyder's system came along. Right now we are splicing vets in with home grown talent. I don't think that is a long term plan.

Udoh's great, but we aren't really playing the system with him in there. Snyder and co want certain skill sets, and it is much easier to develop them than find them off the shelf.

I would be thrilled to have Fournier and Skal if it doesn't require taking crazy salary or sending out a 1st rounder. Would rather wait on Mirotic and Hill.

Basically the same length and standing reach as LA. Very similar freshman stats as LA. Shows shooting touch and a great touch around the rim, like LA.

I don't think they move the same at all. Bradley is okay laterally, but still looks like a plodder. When LA came in he was skinny.

I've never been convinced by his shot either. I think Bradley will be a center only and won't go back and forth between PF/C.

If he becomes a slower LA then that is great... I just don't see it. Would love for him to get some run with the varsity team the last half of the year though.
