Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

Speaking of Aaron Gordon, just a reminder for those who are against tanking when we aren't going to the make the playoffs anways..one spot means the difference between Aaron Gordon and Dante Exum.

Jazz loved Stanley in the draft (allegedly).

Pistons also have Henry Ellenson who could be a stretch 4. They don't play him much, maybe because he is not that good.

Yeah, we tanked that year, too.

THat's a big assumption the Jazz would have taken Gordon over Exum.

As far as I know, it's really raw speculation. He'd be a great fit with the Jazz (stretchy + playmaking), and I know there has been some discussion about him being a potentially moveable piece for Philly, particularly because of Ben Simmons. One of the big draws with Saric is his playmaking ability, and that's pushed to the margins a bit by Ben Simmons. Could be they can trade him to get someone with skills they are in greater need of.
He would indeed be a great fit here. If I had to choose between him and Niko right now, I'd probably take Saric. However, I haven't watched enough of either of them to see who would drive me most crazy on defense.

Everything I was reading was saying that's who the Jazz wanted and I thought they were going to get him, then I remember shortly before the draft reading that Orlando was going to take Aaron Gordon and I was extremely disappointed at the time.

That's who fans wanted, but I dont think there has been any kind of signal thats who the Jazz wanted. I could be wrong.

Actually, in that draft. The talk was between us drafting between Aaron Gordon and Noah Vonleh. Dante Exum fell to us. He was the one who was supposed to go third.

Kevin O'Connor from The Ringer said the Pistons are targeting Hood for Stanley Johnson and a couple other publications have said it too...this can't be true, right? Or at the very least, it's SVG leaking that ****.

Puts on til foil hat

Utah/Orlando swap RFAs they don't want to pay

Big fat no. Gordon can't shoot.

Why does Saric keep getting mentioned around here? I've missed both the reason and the answers. He seems like a great fit in Philly.
i think there's been some speculation about who they end up wanting to pay long term and that he might be the odd man out. Pure speculation tho i think.

Gordon actually has been really awful lately. Maybe just the games I watched. Not making a point that Exum is better he had just fallen off considerably.

EDIT: Yeah in January he is shooting 35/20/62. 190 points on 209 shots.

If I was going to (realistically) go after any player in the league right now, it would be Aaron Gordon, followed by Jabari Parker. They're young guys who fit a position of need. Rudy-Gordon-Mitchell is a hell of a core to build around.

Gordon is shooting 35% from 3 and is very good.

I can't imagine any scenario in which Orlando would trade him
For Rodney Hood. That would make no sense at all.

take away his hot start to the year where he shot a ridiculous 60% from 3 for the first 2-3 weeks and it looks much uglier. I've seen a few of their games recently and it looks ugly

thank you ...

Here's the funny thing about Gordon:
He's a career 30.8% three point shooter. He was hot earlier this year but has cooled off quite a bit (59.1% in October, 39.8% in November, 36% December and 20.5% in January) but we're talking about him turning a corner (he has). On the other hand, we have Niko who all evidence points toward being a solid three point shooter, but is going out of his mind this year, and everyone is talking about how he's just a guy on a hot streak.
