What's new

Portland Trail Blazers @ Utah Jazz -- Friday Feb. 23rd 7pm MST

Damn. I have a dinner at my GF' sister, with her whole family. I'd rather stay home and watch the game with a cold beer.

I'm trying to come up with an excuse to leave early. Hard to do bc we live together haha. And she will notice it's bc of the Jazz. Maybe "oh, we need to walk the dog at 9pm or he will **** in our bed"

Hopefully I'll be able to see the 4qt

DVR saves a lot of relationships. Well, if you are allowed to watch even then. Any future relationship I have will be predicated on us each having some "me" time.

If we win then I’m going to nominate someone to get a vasectomy for the next game. It will be the new ice bucket challenge and we’ll keep this this rolling.
Well unless you can make it retroactive (about 13yrs in June) I can't contribute to this, sorry.

I don't have a DVR and can't watch sports if they are not live.

Haha, we sometimes watch games together. She doesn't mind at all that I do stuff on my own. Heck, I even backpack on my own for months and then we meet somewhere in the world

But you know, there are always special days or celebrations that are more important than sports. Tonight I really wanted to watch the game since it's been a week without Jazz basketball. But hell, life goes on

Clearly you're in denial, dump her and watch the game, it is the way of the future...

Haha. She is a keeper. 6 years and counting

Maybe I should excuse myself during dinner, go to the bathroom and take the longest **** evaaaaaa. Mobile phone for the win haha

It's all about expectations early in the relationship. And make sure your partner also gets time for their fav stuff, too. As for me, I watch many games on replay through League Pass once my wife and kids are asleep. When the kids get a bit older my guess is they'll wanna watch games too, which will allow me more live watches.

Portland is a really cool city. Still dealing with diversity issues, perhaps even more than SLC, but that hipster vibe is pretty chill. I like visiting. Just wish the Jazz were up here, too.

I watch RuPaul's Drag Race with my wife or Marvel movies, so when I in turn ask her if she wants to watch a Jazz game with me, the answer is always yes. I know she's not a fan or anything, so I do it maybe once a month, but it still adds up to 5-6 games a year. Hell, the first time I watched a game with her this season, it ended in her saying "Ok, you've been dreaming about this long enough. We're driving down to SLC to watch the Jazz in a month." And we did.
