What's new

Remember the Alamo Dome - Jazz @ Spurs 3/23/2018 6:30 pm MST

Not one to blame the refs but tonight's officiating was horrendous. We had the zebras against us tonight in my opinion.

His passings pretty good and getting better.....I mean how many times can he lob it up for Gobert and not even have Rudy attempt to go get it before he decides it’s not worth a turnover? As good as Rudy is sometimes he looks so bad on offense. Donovan tried to pass to him but Rudy doesn’t even attempt to get it half the time. Is a turnover or no shot worth more than him getting an actual chance at points?

I agree. Tough loss and he'll definitely get better on his shot selection AND passing. I think that is something we all can agree on

And I’m sure he feels that way and is upset over it. In basketball, in the NBA, when you’re the best player....it’s on you. Just ask LBJ who’s 3-5 in the finals and that’s all his fault.

Mitchell's usage at his efficiency is not ideal. He's a rookie, and he's doing an exceptional job. The problem is not with Mitchell. It is that we have no other high usage player on the team. Gobert uses something like 10% of possessions. We would be so much better if Rubio was a more reliable scorer, specially on drives. And while DM does make the wrong play sometimes, the Jazz are really doing the best with what they have.

Shad trolling like a mother****ing franklin. Jazzfanz so entertaining. Just waiting for another inevitable draft prospects thread meltdown now. . .

Tough loss on a back to back but still got mad love for Donovan the kid was fire out there . He grew alot tonight , he will learn and get better. Tonight was a steeping stone indeed...

The oversimplification of efficiency in basketball is really annoying by idiots like Shad. Sometimes you have to have guys who can take and make tough shots. Sometimes your efficient guys cant get the looks that make them efficient in the first place.
Doesn't Rudy shoot like 60%? Why isn't he putting up 20 shots a game?

Donovan was the only reason the Jazz were even in it tonight. Those shots to force overtime were beautiful. Future is bright.

Mitchell and Gobert are stars. Favors, Jingles and Rubio round out a damn fun and unique starting lineup. Crowder is (usually) a beast.

Jazz need to buckle down and make the playoffs. Enjoy the ride while they can. Then add to the bench in the offseason and stay healthy next year.

Spida goes Iso when the offense breaks down. Who would you want taking shots in Iso ounce Pop breaks our offensive scheme? Rudy? Rubio? Favors? Crowder? Exum? Burks? Jingles? Neto?

As sad as it maybe Mitch is the only person on the team who can get and make a Iso shot in clutch time. We are a system team. We are not our best against other system teams like Atlanta and the Spurs. Which is why Spida needed to take so many shots.

Shad, what are you even talking about?

Has Donovan been in a shooting slump recently? Yeah a little bit. But it's to be expected as a rookie from time to time. Especially a rookie in Donovan's position as really the only guy in the offense who can create his own shot consistently. He has a lot on his shoulders offensively (which is exactly why he's ROTY over Ben Simmons imo). You have to take the bad with the good sometimes. You don't want him to stop shooting when he struggling. He showed exactly why you don't want him to stop shooting when he scored 16 points in the 4th qtr and OT. He kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win it.

Agreed, as much as 35 shots is a lot. I just don’t see the other option in a lot of situations.......and with the other options it’s not that unreasonable.

And back to Shad, I’m simply saying if one guy absolutely gets a pass this season for any mistakes he makes as far as fans are concerned it’s Donovan.....period, just period. I really want to make the playoffs, but I’m really excited about the years ahead as well. Let him fail, let him shoot them out of a game, let him get trapped and turn the ball over, let him take big shots, let him make every decision in crunch time, and in a couple years (or by next season as far as his standards go) he will be one of the top players, scorers, closers, and finishers in this league. If in 3 years he’s having the exact same games we can critique, but right now it’s all about him and making sure he goes through some struggles, mistakes, and comes out better and hopefully as the greatest player that’s ever played here.

This one will smart until we get another win. Gotta take that game on Sunday. Not a must-win, but fairly close to a must-win.

I agree. We have a rough 9 games left, and we really haven't had much help from other teams. We'll have to dig deep to do it but I'm confident we can (as long as Rudy's knee isn't seriously hurt lol... then I'm not lol).

The good thing(for the jazz, not for Curry) is, Curry will most likely be out now with a knee injury. Isn't a guarantee but it helps our chances as sad as that is to say.

Trust me, Curry ain’t playing Sunday. I would place a million dollar bet on it.

Yes calling people names makes your point stronger. NOT!

And Patty ****ing Mills hitting those two midrange pulls up in OT. **** was so lame.
Those killed me. OT 3 minutes left, Jazz up 3 and Spurs scoreless. Mills takes a long 2 with 20 seconds left on the shot clock, the kind of shot that just hands the game over to the other team. He makes it. Jazz scores back. Here comes Mills to take the same shot and make it again. F*** him. Those 2 plays and the Gay rebound surrounded by Jazz players lost us this game.

Hi, here a fan from Spain. My first post and maybe the last. First of all sorry for my english, i know is a disaster. Concerning the game:

1) Donovan is a stud. He will be nº 1/2/3 in the league in the future. He has to shot,20 each game, sometimes a little bit more sometimes less but the main important thing is that he needs to learn to share the ball and the end of the game. I know he is probably the only one that can create is own shot but if give the ball to mItchell 15 or 20 attacks in a row the game is too predictible. Utah can´t make the playoffs playing like that. If you have the ball and you go inside sometimes you will be capable to score and sometimes, with two or three defenders in front of you and with the rest of the team open you have to know someone will be alone ready to shoot. I know the stress of that situation but this what the boy needs to improve.
2) Rudy. I like Rudy, he is the type of player i´ve always wanted on my team. Yesterday was not his game ok. But he needs to develope his mid range shot urgently. And he needs to learn to play the post. I think that when your opponent is playing like L.A yesterday you have to make him work hard on defense, you have to make him feel frustrated on defense and then, his offense won´t be so relaxed. At the moment Rudy is not the player that can make you crazy, he needs Ingles, Ricky, Donovan to pick&roll and that´s predictible.

3) Ingles: He is playiing soo well. I love his slow motion game, very talented, here we say is "cream". But definitely he has to shoot more, i think he can give one step more to help Utah being a contender

4) Ricky : I have being always a fan , with his ups and downs. Sometimes has been frustrating. Always looking for a pass, sometimes a too difficult pass. His turnovers. His layups and bricks. Obviously he is far from perfect. But he has passion, inteligence, he Knows the game and now he is playing great. Yesterday was the one that put the team in his back in the third with his threes and in the fourth with his free throws to keep the game close until Donovan appears. Please UTAH FAN NATION give Ricky credit, he is playing hard. Give him more love. I think in this tread i´ve read only one post talking about Ricky , he did a great job. And he stayed the last ten minutes in the corner , watching what Mitchell, a rookie, was trying to do. I think he could help being more involved at the end because Mitchell plays hero ball a little bit too much for a team that wants to play playoffs.

We need more from the rest of the team.

I hope Utah will play the playoffs. Very, very, very good luck
