I'm a little disappointed in Simmons. He just sounds petty and weak.

Really glad our guy doesn't seem to care about ROY. Mitchell's mentality and maturity is what really sets him apart from other rookies (and veterans).

My take on Ben Simmons comments is that it is part PR but really an indication of how he feels.
He would think that DM is a talented overhyped volume shooter/scorer who doesn't contribute to winning like he does. He constantly mentions his diversified impact on games - and I think he feels disrespected by the media in general. The thing that I bet would annoy him is that everyone always stresses how he is the 2nd best player on his team, and almost no one in the media says the same thing about DM.

I also think people don't realize that he projects to be better than Embiid.

Sounds like a douche.

Embiid is the best player on that team by a significant amount and still projects higher. The only reason to be concerned about Embiids future is injuries and that is the only way Simmons becomes a better player is if his career is derailed by injuries even more than it has.

Washington already showed that hack-a-Ben works. I think it’ll be heavily used in the playoffs. If so, it would be an embarrassing way to finish out what has been a great 2nd season.

As much I really want Mitchell to win, I think it's already been decided that Simmons would win at this point. So the only way to change this, is for Mitchell to outperform Simmons in the Playoffs by taking his Jazz team much further.

no, he went to his first 3-4 years of what we call high school here (middle school there?) and i think moved over to the US to attend the last 2 years of high school i think.

There's some very specific academic boxes that need to be ticked off for an International player to get into college these days. You can avoid these requirements by going to an American HS, which is easier to organise if your dad is American-born.
