Chad Ford on Utah Jazz picks and Jimmer

So you're going to tell me that a teenager that hasn't played real basketball in an entire year will be as good or better than he was? Conversely, if a player plays actual basketball, they can't get better?

He HAS played ... just not for spectator money. I never said anything negative about Jonas. Kanter is an absolute beast .. saw it with my own damn eyes .. it's an opinion, yes, but that's all I've said.

I must admit that part of the reason I like Kanter is that I am just hoping he is a beast and that I just didn't get to see him play last year. I think a lot of people are hoping that at least one player from this draft can be a star...Maybe it's the kid we have never seen play:)

Williams - Not a true SF and plays lazily
Knight - Not a true PG and is a TO waiting to happen
Kema - Too short and is not a true PG
Kanter - He must be perfect

Considering the flawed alternatives + the abilities Kanter displayed over a year ago in the NHS + his size, body fat = Kanter's the best option IMO.

I've thought the EXACT same thing. Couldn't Utah take Kanter @ 3, then package the #12 and Sap (or other pieces) to get back to 5 or 6? I don't see why not.

Holy **** you would run this organization into the ground in one year. Do you know the odds a #3 pick becomes equal to Millsap? its about 10% historically. Mind numbingly dumb idea.

Get real. You think practice at UK and then workouts with coaches (most of the time) is better or equal to playing an actual competition? Hell, throw the NHS game out and how much has Kanter COMPETED in the last two years (actual question)?

Maybe Kanter's the Christ of basketball, but it's ludicrous to suggest that players are static, and that subsequently, Kanter hasn't gotten worse at all and that Valanciunas (or whoever has actually played real ball in the last year) hasn't gotten better either.

I thought Milsap would probably be too steep of a price, that's why I also mentioned (or other pieces) in the same sentence.

But it's still pretty cool that you got this worked up over it. Nice work.

Weird. Why does interpret double post no matter what I do to edit it...

Usually it is because a word is the last one of the line at the cutoff.
That word will appear at the end of the line, and at the beginning of the next line.
For me in your post, the word was shoe.

It happens to all sorts of posts, it doesn't mean that person typed that word twice.

Really? 10%? So you're saying you'd take only one of these players over Millsap?

So does everyone agree that Irving was better suited playing his 11 games, getting injured, and sitting around for the rest of the year?

Well it's currently impossible to improve his draft stock, so it doesn't really matter. He is currently the consensus #1 pick.

"Better suited?" As in he would've come back to earth and his stock would've fallen? Not necessarily. He could've improved (he had/has a lot of room to grow as a distributor still), also, and had he and his team actually been gelled going into the tournament, he probably would have a national championship too.

We can play Monday Morning Quarterback all day about this, but what happened, happened.

But the point is, there is no way he could have improved his draft stock/securing maximum money for his first contract. He could have been more unanimous choice, because actually there are a lot of (internet/noobs/fans)people who want Williams/(Walker/Knight) instead of Irving/(Jonas/Kanter/Vesely)

Right. But I think calling the injury "BETTER suited" for him is pretty outrageous.
