Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Look guys, if you can't tell, I'm hating on Hayward. Actually, I'm hating on dbags like Cy around here still worshiping the ground Hayward used to walk on. The guy was a good player who showed signs of being great. Overall, he was great for one year then bolted like a coward for his college coach, an easier conference and more success playing behind a star bigger than he could become.

Hayward was good but I prefer my draft prospect comps to use another pro instead of the one guys around here simply cannot get over. It's like comparing some random girl's butt to my buddy's ex's butt who was a bitch, cheated on him and is definitely not coming back. Move on.
I think you're the only person perceiving any kind of worship... Recognition of existence isn't some kind of mind-blowing compliment.

He is a very good player, and people around here are closely acquainted with his game. Using him as a player comp makes sense. Doesn't mean people are obsessed.

Your obsession with Cy, on the other hand...

Does that really matter that much if he is too small to ever use that athleticism consistently? Like, yeah, he should be a much better defender, but he is still going to be too small to defend a lot of 2's in the NBA. He isnt a great rim attacker. He was never a player who got to the foul line much. He is a jump shooter, like Burke.

These small guys who live on jumpers can survive in college, but when they get against NBA length the easy buckets at the rim are cut off and all they have is the pull-up jumper to create offense. Those looks are harder because of length and now you just got a small guard who can only score off tough off the dribble shots.

He’s 3 inches taller than Burke and likely pulled a pat connaughton on standing reach to help his vert... not functionally the same size at all. He’s 13 pounds heavier and had a lower body fat. He’s much tougher and likely won’t be a lockdown defender but has good habits and will compete. He’s athletic and it shows on defense. He will be a good defender.

I’m worried about him getting separation more than anything and I think long term he could be more of a 1 than a 2. In our offense it wouldn’t matter much as long as he can get people where they supposed to be... trey Burke.... gtfo with that one.

Obsession with Cy? That's funny. If you were to track that, which it seems like you're interested, you would see that Cy responds to my posts with his consistently pretentious way of doing things. When I address him, it's in a response to his actions. When it comes to his posts, I treat with them with objectivity like I do with every post. I don't look at who posts. I look at content.

Cy just has a Napoleon complex that manifests itself in being a keyboard shot taker. If he stuck to Jazz and general NBA knowledge, he actually would be more respectable. He does have some good perspective sometimes when he addresses the topics like an adult.

As for Hayward, I understand the comps. I choose to go elsewhere with mine because you can't find a true, objective consensus on what Hayward was due to emotions.

Yes. Cy being factually accurate about the kind of player Hayward is, is worshipping him.

The only person between the two of you acting like they haven’t gotten over Hayward is you. You’ve got the issue with Hayward, not Cy. Maybe you need to get over it, yeah?

Hayward has been brought up constantly this offseason so far via either player comparisons or people actually saying they want us to try to trade for him. I'm completely over Hayward which is why I'm telling others to move on. You obviously don't read my posts and want to just stick more than just the tip of your big nose in this conversation.

Are you incapable of recognizing that people can have moved on, while still finding him a useful comparison player when speculating about team needs? And you're the one that came in and started telling everyone not to mention Hayward even as an ancillary example in a discussion that was previously perfectly on topic.

Hayward sucked. So overrated. I'm so glad we invested so much in 7 years for one series win then a sweep. If that is the goal for this draft, please trade the pick.

Are you RonMexico’s alt. I remember him saying Stockton was overrated, you’re an idiot!! I pray to god whoever we pick ends up being just like Hayward.
Gordon Hayward is basically the perfect 3rd star for any team and a great 2nd star. I would do backflips if the Jazz drafted the next Gordon Hayward, I dont really care if it took him 7 years to reach that level. Hayward was a very useful player every year of his career that improved every year in the league. Stop being dumb.
Imagine Hayward getting drafted by this team and not the team coaches by Corbin, he’d have developed much faster
How did you learn how to read and write being this stupid?

Hayward averaged 22 ppg last year. If he never gets hot or hits multiple 3's in a row, he must be the most consistent and steady 22 ppg scorer the NBA has ever seen (which would honestly be extremely impressive). He was also a 40% 3pt shooter that never hit multiple 3's in a row. Insane that he made a 3 then missed 3 then made another one every-time consistently.

Actual Facts: You are a ****ing idiot and Hayward had multiple 30+ point games last year, including a 40 point playoff game.
This post was amazing laying down facts
You literally said if we drafted a Gordon Hayward at 21 you'd want to trade the pick. How do you justify a statement that stupid?

You don’t, you just label him an idiot and move on.

You need a tissue? Hayward was a good player. People around here aren't over him. It's not that big a deal. The guy never did anything for us (outside of one year) and now he's gone. Boo hoo

Cy was factually incorrect about a vast number of hayward topics including ones that were of the utmost importance to the jazz............... dude was ready to trade the farm in exchange for some magic beans and saw it fit to lambast anyone who said otherwise, but here you are lauding his accuracy. It's a result of having pitifully low standards. Cy's like cersi lannister he'd rrather watch a city burn and rule the ashes than think to concede a bit of his pigeonholed pretentiousness in exchange for vision and a more worldly perspective

Trey Burke was not a bad prospect. He just never improved or got better or showed desire to defend or ability to hit a shot or desire to involve others. He just never got the memo that he's not the best player on the floor anymore.

He’s small and not athletic. That won’t cut it in the NBA.

So Bleacher Report’s mock had us taking some Michigan dude i’ve never heard of with KBD still on the board (taken next pick). I know we don’t know DL’s mind, but that’s not happening right?

I have before. Kuz for example.

It’s dumb, unrealistic, and dumb. Double down dumb.

Dumb - so Kuzma wouldn't fit? Who is dumb?

Unrealistic - probably, but the LA FO said everyone is available for the right price. Not like I made that up.

Dumb - I bet you felt so cool with this post. Did you high five yourself?

Double down dumb - just awesome.

Good grief.

He’s a familiar player, who is a very good player, so it makes sense people would use him as a comparison.

If you objectively look at your posts, laced with emotions and lacking in factual backing, and compare them to Cy’s (mucho facts, little emotion) it’s easy to see who’s gotten over it and who hasn’t.

That you can’t discuss Hayward objectively without getting your panties in a tizzy indicates that you’re the one who hasn’t gotten over it yet.
