Following Potential 2018 Draftees

The non guaranteed contracts of Ekpe Udoh, Thabo Sefolosha and Jonas Jerebko can't be traded.

I don't know why Locke keeps talking about trading up. It doesn't seem like a likelihood this year.

I thought the deadline was June 28th or 29th before they are guaranteed so they could be used for draft day trades but not in free agency.

But I'm no expert so...

I wonder if we could capitalize on the Knicks trying to get in on the LeBron sweepstakes. Maybe we could send Burks, Udoh, Jerekbo and #21 for Nkilitina, Noah and #9. Doubt they do it, but we could offer it. Knicks new management didn't draft Nkilitina did they? Mitchell and Frank are close.

The Knicks would save $7 million in the deal and have close to enough for LeBron this summer or Kyrie next summer.

If the Jazz are going to trade up in the draft, I think the most likely scenario would be 16 (Phx), 17 (Mil) or even just 19 (Atl). The Jazz have personal contacts with those teams, a bit player or some cap relief could get a deal done, and the talent level in the draft flattens out.

No thanks, we would be paying Noah almost $20 million a year for the next 2 seasons. I want to have cap space for 2019.

I doubt the Knicks do it but I would do it. Really, what is our plan for 2019? If we plan on keeping Exum this year and Rubio next year, do we have max room anyway?

I think the 2019 space thing is overrated. If we are looking to add, we can't just wait until 2020?

Why are people so down on Grayson Allen? Is it because of age and on court antics? Not sure how people can like DD but not Allen. What am I missing?

Because ticket sales will be hurt if a fanbase doesn't like a player. So even though Grayson is an enormous talent, it is a risk of hurting ticket sales. I think he drops all the way to the GSW pick in the first round.

You may be overthinking this.

I feel like Josh Okogie is now a bit underrated and should also be in play for the #21 pick. Stellar athlete, adequate size and length for a wing, can switch defensively to guard 3 positions, can shoot, has enough ball skills to be a secondary initiator. He could end up being a more impactful player than Zhaire Smith. In fact, I'd say it's likely.
