It was clearly a trip, and though minimal, Allen’s Knee still came into contact and caused the other player to stumble.

The replay showed Allen's leg a bit extended and looked to be locked. It could have been a trip attempt or it may have been an awkward attempt to check his momentum. Hard to tell from the replay angle.
