Democrats are letting this guy talk over their questions, and they are doing a poor job overall. And he is very disrespectful. Graham is a nut, lol..
 
Proud of my own Sen. Whitehouse, but he could have done a better job with the yearbook questions, and Kavanaugh talking over him to ask Whitehouse what he liked to drink, repeatedly, was disrespectful. Kavanaugh is not there to grill the senators.

I'd chose Mike Lee over this guy, but heck I find this Ford story hard to believe for this very reason. My wife related a story once of someone who was very crude to her at a food court, very first thing I wanted to know, was who it - what's his name? If it was attempted rape I woudn't have slept till I new the name and I'd sought justice right then. Can anyone honestly believe she'd withhold the name to even her husband? Out of what concern? I work in IT in healthcare and were not allowed to not make a hotline call when something like this is reported.

It wouldn't be unusual for a woman to not state his name when telling the story. My closest friends who have been raped have never told me their rapists' names. I have never told the names of the various men who have sexually harassed me over the years when telling the stories (something I've done very rarely prior to the start of the #metoo moment, even though some of them took place more than 35 years ago).

There is something that men will never understand about sexual assault if they haven't gone through it - and that is how your fear of the men never goes away. Speaking their names and telling the stories is entirely too scary because of how that might come back to hurt you. And we spend our whole lives trying not to be hurt by men.

Also, theoretically she let a sexual predator continue on in his life putting more woman at risk? That's a selfish decision, justice and laws are in place for a reason, people who attempt to rape another should be in jail not continue on.
 
The vendetta this guy will carry if confirmed to the Supreme Court is just scary...

If any normal time he’d barely receive 10 votes. But in the trump era this guy seems like a lock to be confirmed. I hope women don’t forget to vote this November. They’re getting trampled right now

She said she wouldn’t answer questions till there was an fbi investigation into her allegations. They refused, and she caved in because of pressure from reporters.

As one of the talking heads just observed, Lindsey Graham auditioned to be the next Attorney General today.
 
Well in my opinion, they're are big things on the horizon and forces (not just democrats) are purposely tying up the senate and supreme court for long as possible. That's my opinion - y'all think that's impossible? certainly if you're rational you can give a certain % that this is the case. 5%? 15%?
 
Democrats are trying to get him to call for an FBI investigation to clear his name. He can't do that and be confirmed before the midterms. If the Senate flips, he won't be confirmed. So he is in a tough situation. He looks guilty by not calling for the investigation, and he looks guilty by not answering questions directly about his his drinking.

I don't agree, actually. The FBI investigation would take only a few days. The midterms are over a month away. The FBI could have investigated these claims in the eleven days that have passed since they first became known.
 
Yet all three people she named as being present say they don't remember any of this or anything remotely close to it, even Ford's close friend? That's not fishy to you @JazzGal ?

If they can do it that quickly, I have no idea, why not? I thought I had heard the investigation could take months.

So... Let me guess this straight. The Republicans bring in a prosecutor to grill Dr Ford and don't engage with her at all, but when it's Kavenaughs turn, the one who is being accused of the assault, they suddenly find their voices and act like character witnessess for him. What an absolute sham.
