Bingo.

And Jason is as solid as they come. Having been a moderator, I can attest to him not overstepping the bounds that he sets for himself. He tries to be fair, and allows the moderators to do their jobs with minimal (if any) interference. I'm sure the other mods (both past and present) would confirm this.

100% correct.

Of all mods and admins, Jason is probably the easiest going.

www.jazzhacks.com was invented for guys like Sloanfeld. :D

That site sucks!!! I registered and it's been at least 45 seconds and an admin still hasn't activated my account. That and some Ravin guy seems to do 90% of the posting. Someone should tell him how to spell Raven correctly. Sheesh...

That's why I shut it down. Unless you're in my book club. lol

Man if I knew that getting attacked in rep by Sloanfail would have been enough to get him banned I could have done so as soon as the rep was made public. He made numerous attacking name calling reps toward me before the rep was public. I thought about reporting him, but figured it was only a matter of time before he got himself banned anyway.

Can't say I'll miss him at all. Good riddance.

I've actually found Jason to be one of the more lenient mods here (as owner of the site he gets a full vote, and I've never seen him use his power that he rightfully has as the owner of the site to overrule a vote). He's about as fair as it gets, and I really am not saying that in any suck up sort of way.

Quick update: KatieDMC can call you a troll without consequence. If you respond in kind, infraction.

Just a heads up guys. Stay away from whiners.

just how do you know what consequence may or may not have been given?

Note for any newbies: Your own infraction count shows up under your avatar/screen name ONLY to you, other posters cannot see it - - and you cannot see the infraction/warning count of others

Sloanfeld really is insane.

Did you notice how he never once admited to making mistakes. It was always someone else.
Jason is corrupt. The mods are out to get him. The Boozer haters are out to get him. blah blah blah.
I never heard once hey maybe I should cool it down a bit, and not try to annoy anyone. Maybe I can do A, B, or C.
It was always Sloanfeld knowing he was pissing people off, knowing he was about to get banned, but never admiting he had
anything to do with it.

Good riddance old buddy.

He sounds like a liberal.

This site is corrupt? How funny is that? This site is owned by Jason and he has complete control over how he wants it run. If he was to ban people he finds annoying that would be his right. If he changes the rules to accommodate the kind of posts and posters he wants participating on his site, that would be alright, too. Not a single one of us is entitled to participate here. We do so at Jason's pleasure. Keep that in mind and I'll bet you'll get along here just fine.

This isn't the public square and stupidity does not have to be tolerated.

I don't necessarily agree with him but he didn't say the site is corrupt, he said, "Jason is corrupt."

I think he defined corruption as not applying his own rules fairly. I think most people can abide being punished as long as the punishment is applied evenly.

Where is this public square?

Why is this in the FAQ?

Unfair Moderator: If a user ever feels he/she is being treated unfairly by a moderator, he/she may contact the JazzFanz.com administrators.

Has any mod ever been removed for acting "unfair?"

^^^ At this point, I almost welcome Hopper's 'jive talking' mumbo jumbo to this current bag of crap.

Frankly it's there for two reasons:

1) It's a relic of an older moderating system in which moderators could act more unilaterally.
2) Jason and colton have learned through experience that virtually everyone complains about getting moderated and have freed the moderators from being obligated to respond to direct complaints for being unfair.

BTW that it took Sloanfeld over a year to get banned is an example of how weak the moderating system really is since he is basically the definition of an internet troll. That this thread turned into complaints about moderation is absurd.

Hilarious. You initiated the confrontation in the thread. And, "Good lord, shut your ugly troll face" is not quite the same as "Go away troll."

Oh, and your assumption that Katie's comments were ignored or left unaddressed by the moderating staff is wholly incorrect.

Just a heads up guys. Stay away from whiners.

The irony of this statement is just delicious.
