Roster Addition Wish List

Bradley Beal would be a dream.

We have expirings that could match his salary. What young pieces would they want in addition?

Favors, Exum, Burks?

Here is what I would offer:

Rubio, Burks, Thabo, Bradley, 2 unprotected 1st rounders and 2nd rounders
for
Beal AND Mahinmi
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9wwgal3

This trade gets Washington out of the luxury AND lets them shed Mahinmi's $15+ million for next season. In other words, they can keep Oubre and most of the team intact minus just Beal. They could also hunt for other free agents this summer with the extra money they have.

I would do that. Losing rubio might be addition by subtraction. Burks is likely gone anyway. Thabo is geriatric. Bradley is meh. The firsts have value but you have to give up value to get beal. Plus they shed salary. Seems pretty fair to me but what do i know.

I would be aggressive in going after Beal. I think Beal is a 25 PPG player for us easily. Porter's contract is an albatross and they'd probably prefer shedding him to take on the expiring contracts.

Taking Mahinmi and losing two firsts would hurt. But we also don't lose any important future pieces.

That deal would put Mitchell at the 1 with Beal his running mate at the 2. The thought makes me cream my shorts but I don't think the FO does something like that so soon. I doubt we trade Rubio. But I'd admire the initiative if they did. Would also feel bad that we sent Ricky to do nothing in Washington while they wait for his contract to expire.

I'd also take Otto porter because he'd probably be available to expirings and very little else.

Let's break it down:

Untouchables:
Gobert
Ingles
Crowder
Mitchell
O'Neale (I just doubt we trade him with his contract being such a bargain)
Grayson (I don't see us trading him - our FO loves him)

Can't be traded until January:
Favors
Exum
Neto
Niang

Trade pieces:
Rubio $14.8 (I doubt he's available, but maybe if the right deal becomes possible)
Burks $11.6 expiring
Thabo $5.3 expiring
Udoh $3.4 expiring
Bradley $1.7
TOTAL (without Rubio): $21.82

I think the 4 available trade pieces works financially for Otto Porter ($26+).

Sometimes, ESPN Trade Machine glitches up. For example, this deal with $21.9 works fine: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7p7fc8h
Then this deal with $21.83 doesn't and says we need to add so much more: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9569hdx

This is exactly right. Outside of Rubio, we trade guys we don't need, keep the long term pieces and even keep Favors for continuity sake. Think about our roster and how amazing this looks:

PG Mitchell, Exum, Neto
SG Beal, O'Neale, Grayson
SF Ingles, Crowder
PF Favors, Niang
C Gobert, Udoh, Mahinmi

I'd kick the tires on Beal for sure, but likely get outbid. I think the lakers could and should go hard after him and they have more assets theyd likely put on the table.

OP Jr. has likely tanked his value to a point we could get him for expirings... I'd do that. We need to bank on acquiring some distressed assets and having them be fixer uppers.

This report has New Orleans interested in Otto Porter. https://www.theringer.com/nba/2018/11/19/18102234/nba-bold-trade-pelicans-anthony-davis

They don't mention Mirotic as part of the play for Porter, but they do mention Randle. Well, NOLA can't trade Randle until January but they did offer Mirotic in their offer for Butler. I wonder if....

New Orleans gets Porter
Jazz get Mirotic
Wizards get Solomon Hill, Burks and Utah's 2019 1st rounder (top 4 protected)
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ybz3z66t

I'm still just not convinced the Jazz are going to be able to land any of Middleton, Harris or Niko in free agency. If they have a chance to add a player like Bradley Beal or even Otto Porter through a trade, I think they have to aggressively pursue it, even if they have to give up valuable assets in the process.

Untouchables:
Gobert
Ingles
Crowder
Mitchell
O'Neale (I just doubt we trade him with his contract being such a bargain)
Grayson (I don't see us trading him - our FO loves him)

I think the only true untouchables are Gobert and Mitchell with Ingles being close to untouchable. If the right deal came along I think Lindsey would be willing to part with anyone else, including Crowder, O'Neal and Allen.

If the Wizards are trading Beal, they are tanking. I highly doubt they even trade him. I think the most likely thing is they trade 1 of Porter/Wall and try to retool around Beal.

The Jazz just don't have good young assets. They got Tony Bradley, Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale, Georges Niang, and Dante Exum. So if the Wiz are trying to blow it up and start fresh by trading Beal, none of those guys are needle movers.

Porter is much more likely, but he is overpaid. I'd give up Favors/Burks/Protected 1st but that's it. And I'm not 100% sure I'd do that.

If we were going after a Durant or LeBron, I would agree with you. I just don't think any other team values those 3 guys (Crowder, O'Neale and Grayson) nearly as much as we do which means that they wouldn't be thrown in a trade.

There is more value in buying low on Porter than paying a premium for Beal.

Allen, multiple firsts, and expirings is good but doesn't have the one diamond asset. Lakers would likely do Hart, Ingram, a pick and that kinda kicks our ***.

I think if you offered up expirings and any bonus asset (Bradley, 2 seconds) it would get the job done. A three teamer where Ricky goes somewhere for equivalent salary and a second could help squeeze more out of the deal.

Burks, Thabo, Udoh, Bradley and multiple 2nd rounders for Otto Porter is the type of deal I want to see us try.

It completely clears Washington of Porter's salary for primarily expirings. They don't sacrifice either of the All Star guards. They could start Oubre and pay him in the summer without any worry. They are thin at C which means Bradley might get a chance there. Burks, Thabo and Udoh all probably help them this season make the playoffs.

Some might say that Washington could get a 1st rounder for Porter, but I just don't see that unless they take back some sort of not so great contract (Solomon Hill and his $13.3 million for next year for example).

Lakers wouldnt trade that **** for Kawhi, they arent doing it for Beal. They think they can sign players.

Swallowing the Hill contract is worth a first by itself imo. I think you are right. OP either forgot how to play or he is just done being Wall and Brooks whipping boy.
