Boozer KFAN rumor

I only do it if the trade looks like this...

S+T Boozer 4 Gortat, Bass, & Pietrus

OR

S+T Boozer & Kirilenko 4 Carter, Gortat, Bass, & Pietrus

I guess ppl don't know Gortat AT ALL. Un-athletic. In the dude's pre-draft measurements he cleared 12'2'' on maximum reach. Putting him in the top 10 in the Draft Express draft measurements stats.

He's 7' tall with a 7'3.5'' wingspan and a 36'' vertical leap.

It's known as the Hayward Rule...if you are white you are automatically a poor athlete.

maybe they're overvaluing Boozer.

playing alongside Howard would cover most of Boozer's flaws. Orlando knows this. If Orlando can move a couple of bench players for a guy that might be an all-star, then it is a no-brainer. On the Jazz's side of things, this is as good a scenario as one could hope for. I haven't seen any other S&T's that return anything like this level of talent.

Also, Orlando targeting Boozer makes a good deal of sense: they know they aren't likely to get Bosh or Stoudemire, so go for the other guy.

I think this rumor has real legs. I'd hope for Bass and Gortat.

Orlando needs AT LEAST 3 (but usually employ 4) three-pt threats on the court at a given time. Trying to find 30+ MPG for 30+ million in salary (and good players, to boot) in a system like that for two non-perimeter threats isn't going to happen.

I'd be down with Gortat and Bass or Gortat and Pietrus across the board. Then take on Micheal Beasley with the Harpring TPE.

Deron/hopefully Jerome Randle gets signed or freaking someone other than.../Price
Matthews/CJ
Hayward/Pietrus
Beasley/Millsap
Gortat/Koufos

(I'm not so sure about that depth chart, I tried to match skill-sets more than anything).

All I know is that the Jazz need to start focusing on acquiring pure NBA talent after losing a force like Boozer (if you think he isn't just because he's got holes, you're not thinking straight). Beasley looks like the closest thing possible at this stage.

You left AK out of that.

I did. Well, he goes in there somewhere. Don't match Matthews? Or... ****. I don't know.

Jazz need freaking talent, though. Looking what I typed up I couldn't tell who the best overall player was... MILES (that sucks)?

The big IF in this deal is Gortat. The money isn't outrageous, but it's a 4 year marriage. Jazz would have to do a lot of homework to decide whether it would be worth it.

Can you help me understand how we can get Beasley for Harp's TPE?
Also, under this scenario you laid out you don't bring back Fes? Is this because you don't like him or because the Jazz wouldn't have the funds?
thanks, man.

Well, eliminate Beasley and you basically have AK backing up Sap. And you can scratch Koufos' minutes. Until Memo gets back, AK is only cutting into minutes for Miles/Matthews/Hayward/Pietrus slightly. Once Memo is back, one of those 4 wings gets moved to spot duty. Hayward would probably be that guy, but if he's playing well it could be Matthews. And if this deal goes through, it basically means the Jazz tender Matthews, ride out the period, and offer him a 2 year deal max which is what they should do, anyway.

The Harpring TPE is more than Beasley's salary. The Jazz can use it to take back a player up to it's value without taking salary back.

Well, this sign-and-trade makes sense only from the perspective with Boozer gone Jazzfanz.com will need a new whipping boy, and Gortat should have assumed that role by mid-December.

right... I guess I wasn't aware that Miami needed MORE cap space and were willing to just walk away from Beasley.
