2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

That's absolutely wild...

He has no leverage unless a 7 foot big man coming off an ACL tear is going to accept a qualifying offer which would be dumb as ****.

Dumber than playing for the knicks for 4 years? Kind of a rock and a hard place situation.

Side-note, but teams this year should be really down on lottery picks, combine a weak top of the draft with those new lottery odds and I wouldn't be valuing those anything like they were in the past. I'd give up unprotected picks for AD in a heartbeat if I were NY/CHI/etc.

Zinger trade proposals gonna be crazy... the only question is... how hard will NY eff this up? They will eff it up but how hard is up in the air.

Probably true... I think he sprained his toe last night too. Owner could back track on that if he wanted to. The Mahinmi and a pick for Favs might open up and help with a Conley trade. Significant interest is good.
That's the problem for Mitotic and Porter, they are both currently injured. Hard to trade for guys who you aren't sure on their future availability in a tight playoff race.

Not a fan of Zingis. I know we don't have the assets to even talk to the Knicks about him. And I am glad for it.

Holiday or bust.

What's our best offer?

Seems like it would have to include taking on some bad money.

How many 1sts do you add to this? 2? 3?

Hot take... I’d throw the offer at pelicans for holiday instead. Zinger needs to be a 5 to maximize his potential... I don’t think Rudy and Zinger fit and the injury and his overall build scare me.

Our offers would suck... this is a Celtics play imo... we have a bunch of dimes and nickels... gotta have quarters and 50 cent pieces in the big trades.

I think KP goes (if he does) for a bit less than people are expecting. But I think I agree that I don't love the fit here in Utah, and would rather spend that elsewhere (Jrue!).

I really want to see KP/Gobert together, it'd be interesting, but I just don't think it would be that great.

New lottery odds means more teams are going to value their lottery pick

I think it will be fascinating. And I also think it might work. Do you think KP is worse defender at the 4 than Jae for example? I don't. I think on offense they will be great together. Porzingis will be popping, Gobert will be rolling and pulling defenders toward the rim.

You are right about the injury history, though....

Yeah, Zingis is a terrible defender at the 4, and that was before an acl injury.

I think Gobert would guard 4s better than Porzingis.
