Burks at #12

Like Burks. SOLID draft, come on guys. Leonard would probably have been a better pick, but I highly doubt the difference between the two will be great.

Burks does seem a little weird in interviews, like he's way too jittery. And I also see a LOT of Kirk Snyder in him, a dangerous amount.

Yay. Ronnie Brewer is returning to the Jazz.

I don't think so. This guy looks to be very good with the ball and can pass off of the dribble. He is not great at outside shooting but at least he does not have a screwed up arm preventing him from getting it eventually. I'm mixed on this pick. I though they would go with Leonard when I saw he was still on the board.

I also think it is fairly obvious that they expect Millsap to play a great deal at SF or they are going to move him for somebody who can.

very happy with this pick, been on the burkswagon the whole time.

the only question is how will he fit with hayward? burks is a good ball handler so he might even be able to play a lil point at times. he's got a lot of upside and still only 19.

i didnt watch him a lot, but a SG without shooting? Is he at least better than ronnie brewer?

Thats why I think KOC liked him. The Jazz have no backup PG and Devin Harris is injury prone. Burks might have a good enough handle to handle PG.

I like Burks a lot. He gives us an athletic ball handler who can create his own shot. If he can ever develop an OK 3 point shot, he can be very good.

Not crazy about the pick - I would have went for a shooter like Hamilton.

But what the hell - it's the 12th pick. If he can develop into a solid role player, I'll be happy.

And I like his "chip on my shoulder" talk. Let's see if he can back it up.

If he can play the point in the NBA he can be a match-up nightmare for opposing teams.

showed plenty of 3's being made. didnt show the 71% of his long shots clanking off the rim

If I am not mistaken, Gordon Hayward shot 29.4% from the 3 in his last season at Butler. Give the kid a chance is my main point.

Look on the bright side. When was the last time the Jazz had a 2 and 3 that were capable of putting the ball on the floor, creating their own shot, and both were good passers as well? Burk has a chip on his shoulder and a strong desire to prove people wrong about his basketball ability. I am Ok with this pick. Many good small forwards in next years draft, and if I remember right Burks was the #1 rated shooting guard in the draft.
