What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

There seems to be bad blood there, though. I'm not really sure why, but...

Just guessing... it seems he wasn't as good a locker room guy as we thought... may have been one of the Indiana boyz that were not that into being here... I think there is some sense he actually sat out the GS series when he could have played (I don't blame him much if this is true).

Best case for Utah is Kyrie goes to Brooklyn.

That would take an option away from Harris and make Russell available (not that I'm a huge fan, but he's more appealing than a lot of alternatives)

That is a good point... I haven't run the numbers, but they may have to make DLo unrestricted to do that... which would give us a chance to get him on a better deal. Restricted guys either get overpaid or generally bad offers because of the threat of matching.

The Jazz would still have to max him to have him. Being a UFA doesnt make him old and it doesnt make Utah not Utah.

Ehh, if the team situations were flipped he would have taken the 5 year max from Boston.

Maybe... I'd have thought the same on PG, but I think some guys think future markets will always be better. It is an option to make a 4 year deal more palatable and close some of the gap on a 5 year max.

I'm really not sure Philly throws out 5 year max for Tobias... I'm not sure he's an "asset" to them at that point. They may be stuck.

And I don't really want Russell on a max. I think I'd rather do the Wiggins trade and have him on his max over Russell.

No idea what they're going to do, or what the players are going to do. I think Jimmy could make the decision easy for them and go elsewhere on his own will (and same with Tobias). Hopefully something glorious will happen and they both leave.

Maybe so, but I'm not sure who is offering max to him at that point. I don't want him on a max deal... if we could slide a team option in there or get a reduced per year amount maybe.

I did look at the numbers. Brooklyn would have to stretch or trade Crabbe for nothing if they want to keep DLo's cap hold... if they had Kyrie willing to sign I'm not sure they would care about retaining his caphold though.

And Kyrie leaves Boston... and they give Rozier like $15M a year to stay and suck... I would love to watch those markets melt.

Chicago or Phoenix

No way they would have to give Rozier 15. I think he's firmly played himself out of any opportunity of being overpaid (unless Lopo is an actual NBA GM).

Chicago or Phoenix

Neither team has close to max without making significant moves... Phoenix would need to move Warren and take no salary back and waive and stretch Johnson. Chicago would need to move Felicio/Dunn with no salary returning.

Doesn't change the fact that I would like it to happen.

I'd rather have Russell but both make me queasy. I just think Wiggins kinda likes basketball... I think Russell likes basketball, but athletic ceiling, self awareness, and injury concerns could derail him.

****, you're right. For some reason I thought Phoenix and Chicago had max space.

Maybe you're right about him being had for under the max.

I am listening to the Salt City Hoops podcast and Andy Larsen is saying there is REAL chance the Jazz are in play for Tobias Harris. He underlined it several times that there is interest both ways.

Isnt this whole thing stemming from Tobias Harris being a brand supporter for some blender company in Utah?

No they are saying something about Quin and Harris having good relationship and respect for eachother or something of that sort. They didn't say anything about a blender company...

How the hell do they even know each other?

I just know that Harris is the brand ambassador for Blendtec, a Utah based blender company.
