I think he's probably a role player, but he could still go first round. If teams are looking for shooting, Windler is going to be appealing, probably more so than Cameron Johnson from UNC. He seems to move well off the ball and has some ability to go to the rim.

Ideally, the Jazz would get an athletic, 2-way wing who is dynamic with the ball to play between Mitchell and Gobert. That's a glaring hole for us when Ingles isn't on the floor. I'm not sure if Windler fits that bill, or if any of the wings they brought in yesterday do either. That's why I'm biased towards guys like Horton-Tucker and Bazley. I think those two can be triple-threat guys.

Thanks a lot for the update. I keep obsessively checking mock drafts these days.

Grant Williams: probably more of an early second round guy than a 23rd pick. Not sure if he will have an ideal position in the NBA due to lack of size at the 4 and lack of speed at the 3. Having said that, I like him. He does have skills, is working to develop an outside shot and is a high character guy with good BBIQ. Probably has 'Jazz DNA' for what it's worth. Bit of a reach at 23, but I could live with the pick.
Chuma Okeke: also probably more of an early second round guy than a 23rd pick, in large part due to his injury. Remains to be seen how well he will bounce back, but he could pay of well down the line. I'd prefer someone who could contribute earlier. I could talk myself into liking the pick, but it would require pure optimism.
Keldon Johnson: probably gone by the 23rd pick. For that reason alone he would be a good pickup.
Brandon Clarke: very likely gone by the 23rd pick. He's not ideal for what we need, since he will most likely play the 4 and isn't known as a shooter. But if we could pick him up at 23 that would be a total steal and I would be very happy to have him on board.
Cameron Johnson: he can shoot the 3 very well and it never hurts to have a guy like that on your team. But he's quite old already and doesn't do much more than shoot the 3. I'm sure he could be a contributor, but somehow I'm not very excited about him.
Nas Little: probably gone at 23. He's not high on my list, but that could be due to insufficient knowledge of his game.

As for the other list, I would feel positive about drafting Thybulle, Okpala, Horton-Tucker, Ty Jerome or Kabengele (Mutombo's nephew btw). No real interest in Bitadze, Fernando or Edwards.

I look at cam Johnson and think if he can be a good defender he could have a Corey Brewer type of impact. A true 3 and D player

I don't think he's anywhere near that kind of athlete. I'm not into him as a pick at all, tbh. It wouldn't surprise me if he slipped to the 2nd round in an Ivan Rabb sort of way.

I'll be a bit surprised at this point if the Jazz draft Okpala at #23. His outside shooting isn't there yet, he's a good, but not great athlete, and his inside/slashing game might not be as effective against NBA defenders. He's also not been much of a playmaker to date. I don't think he has much pull-up game either. The thing he's got going for him is that he's long, but I don't think that's enough to make him a compelling pick.

I went looking back at Jazz workouts from Drafts past, and was surprised to see Tacko Fall worked out for the Jazz in 2017, he worked out with 5 other players including Naz Mitrou-Long and Jazz summer league prospect Malcom Hill.

cam johnson is a great shooter in space but is too slow, unathletic, and has zero handles. he's 3 and D minus the type of D that quin would want from him at the 3/4 position. people complain about allen's age, but he's an older senior than allen was at this same time last year. he also comes off a bit soft to me. i've said my spiel on edwards earlier in this thread, but pretty much identical to what @Wes Mantooth was saying. he's too inefficient and I question his ability to affect the game without high usage (which he won't have at nba level) or taking really bad/contested shots. i also question his ability to run a team and take care of the ball. he averaged more TOs than assists this season. wouldn't take him at 23. i like the idea of bazley, windler, okeke, clarke, williams, paschall.

I don't see Okpala getting picked in the first round. I think he'll end up going in the early/mid 2nd. I like Isaiah Roby more.

I worry about his efficiency too and think he could struggle with the NBA 3 based on his shooting style but part of his inefficiency was likely based on the load he had to carry. He took six more shots per game this year than the year before. That said, it’s a concern as is his minuscule assist numbers.

Yeah, range isn't a problem for him. I don't think getting his shot off will be either. Really quick off the bounce into shot with good elevation.
