What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Kyrie and KD to Brooklyn would be the most Kyrie and KD thing ever... everyone says they going to Knicks... they like "nah Brooklyn! Stay Woke!"

No freaking thank you to taking Crabbe's contract just to get two meh first rounders. We are not rebuilding anymore.

D-Lo definitely wouldn't be my first choice but I would still be stoked to get him... he would be the biggest free agent signing in franchise history. He's still just 23 and is already an all star caliber player. The inefficiency is concerning but I have no doubt he would flourish under Quin and our excellent developmental staff.

I think Brooklyn has a pretty good dev staff and system for D-Lo... he should improve, but it isn't like he is coming from a bad environment. I think having Rudy will be the biggest change.

I think that is something lost in the narrative is that he might not get as big of a bump from our dev staff as a player from another team would.

I hope the second is for KD instead of Tobias

To use the second slot they have to renounce DLo… so if Tobias goes there Russell shakes loose... not my first choice, but I think it's better than nothing.

I think it's KD/Jimmy/Tobias... miss on those guys and they just retain Russell and sign a mid tier guy.

Just to clarify:

The Nets are sending Crabbe, the No. 17 pick in the 2019 NBA draft and a 2020 lottery-protected first-round pick to the Hawks for forward Taurean Prince and a 2021 second-round pick, league sources said.

That's what I'm thinking. Nets go Kyrie and another max guy (Jimmy, KD, etc). Russell and/or Tobias shake free.

He's still so young though, I mean he's not even close to his prime yet. I think he still has a lot of room to grow and I think our developmental staff could definitely bring out the best in him over the next few years.

Sign Caruso and Portis. They have massive upside. Then get the BPA after that.

I honestly think this, with solid (not massive but fairly noticeable) improvement from Gobert and Mitchell, nets us 54 wins. Add in a healthy Exum and I think we win 56 wins. Add in the BPA being a solid pg like Beverley and I think we win 58-60 wins.

I guess... I just don't think he has this super high ceiling because he's not athletic (by nba standards of course). He doesn't get to the rim or to the line... don't see those things changing... he can limit his turnovers and shoot better I guess.

I get the feeling this Brooklyn trade is a lot like the start of the second half of that Blazer's game to end the season. Some crazy stuff is going to happen and we are going to get a crap matchup.

At least one or both of the Celtics and Sixers are about to be screwed though. . .

EXUM. Yes!

Today in Locke Land. He said he's working on a mock draft and he's trying very hard to trade the pick...for Kevin Love. He said he hates the timing of free agency for the Jazz and thinks there's a good chance they're left high and dry. So he's being proactive and getting Kevin Love (and that's your final team...) instead of risking being left with nothing. Lol this forum would burn if Utah actually did this.

For the record, I swap Favors for two first rounders* and Crabbe every day of the ****ing week.

For the record, trading our second-best player for garbage is a great way to fall back into the lower half of the playoffs. I understand wanting to un-duplicate, but let's do it by gaining talent.

it's hilarious to me that grayson is basically considered geriatric on most jazz forums, yet players who are the exact same age (or older) but have the advantage of more nba development/veteran experience time are considered so young to alot of jazz fans. i can't wait to see what he is at age 25 with a couple more years of experience. he also played AAU ball with russell and won nike peach damn the summer before their senior years.
