What's new

The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

heathme sounds like a great person if you cannot handle him and must ignore him. Ignore me all you want. I've been sitting on the sidelines for too long to not call out the BS on this thread.
You are literally a new member.

So, you've been, what, hanging out on a Utah Jazz message board, reading the political posts for years without even creating an account, but SUDDENLY you feel like you need to "contribute?"

BS. Massive BS.

If you don't have an account it will not take you to your last read post in a thread. Makes the site much more difficult to read. It also won't show you the pictures or videos except for a tiny thumbnail. And if you click on the thumbnail it prompts you to log in.

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation."

Manafort actually went to jail for those ties to Russia. So yeah, pretty evil.

This is now 5 star witnesses and now all 3 amigos saying nothing impeachable happened. You people are crazy...

Not once, not once was the name Burisma [or] the Bidens mentioned to me," Perry, the former governor of Texas, told Ed Henry in an exclusive interview that will air on "America's News HQ" this weekend. "Not by the president, not by Rudy Giuliani and not by [U.S. Ambassador to the European Union] Gordon Sondland. And if there's anyone who says anything different, then they're surmising. And that's not a wise thing to do."

So, this whole thing, in simplest terms, comes down to which side of it is lying, doesn't it? I mean, on the one hand we have literally all Democrats, a lineup consisting mostly of decorated career diplomats, and some fairly moderate Republicans. On the other hand we see established compulsive liar Trump (over 13,000 lies during his term as President so far), his at least partially criminal inner circle, and some fairly hardline Republicans whose respective constituencies would absolutely crucify them if they stopped toeing the party line.

It's a real head-scratcher, that one. If only there were some common-sense way we the viewing public might at least discern who is most likely not telling the truth. I suppose we'll just have to keep watching the various news outlets searching for some sign or another.

This is horrifying and so accurate. The “Russification” is already underway. If Trump isn’t removed from office, what’s stopping him from pressuring another government to cheat in the next election? And if he’s given 4 more years, what stopping him from shutting down the Wash Post, imprisoning critics, and punishing those who testified against him? As long as he keeps just enough senators to stay loyal to him in order to keep from being convicted, he literally can do whatever he wants.

He’s already buying off jurors:

Yes, Adam Schiff is an abject failure. Here are two people that were actually in the hearings.

Here's a moderate that does not even like Trump saying it's BS.

a moderate with political aspirations for 2024. Republicans playing politics isn’t a good measurement of what’s right and wrong. To anyone with brain, they know that holding up military aid to force another country to smear your political opponent is wrong. If there’s one saving grace in all of this, it’s that the GOP’s marriage with Trump will leave such a long-lasting memory on the young people of today, that the GOP will be destroyed in most places for the next generation. We’re already seeing this happen.

Good riddance too. We need a principled Conservative party in this country. That’s not the GOP.

"Abject failure"? That's about as uncreative and unconvincing a characterization as can be made. There wasn't an original thought in that lady's head. Her comments may as well have been written by Hannity himself, which in fact wouldn't surprise me to actually have been the case. Sorry, man, but posting a Fox News interview of a cookie-cutter GOP politician speaking stale insults through a fake smile isn't going to persuade anybody of anything.

Here's a moderate that does not even like Trump saying it's BS.

I might not fully agree with Hurd's assertions of no evidence, but I very much appreciate and respect that he seems genuine and grounded. He made me think. This is the kind of engagement that should be happening, and not the antagonistic attempts at distraction coming from unlikable idiots like Devin Nunes and Jim Jordan. I wouldn't mind at all hearing more from Hurd.

More crickets

Politico a very left leaning source.

Particularly since a couple of Republican senators, as The Washington Times previously reported, have requested the Justice Department to investigate whether or not Ukrainian officials tried to undermine Trump’s presidential campaign — and asked for Attorney General William Barr to give them the answer by Oct. 14.

According to Politico — according to a Politico report from Jan. 11, 2017, that was linked on the USUBC’s page — the answer to that question is a clear-cut “yes.”

Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfire
Kiev officials are scrambling to make amends with the president-elect after quietly working to boost Clinton.

They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

Not a damn word...

You could do your own research, instead of continuing to ask others to prove, or disprove, something for you. Now, here you are pointing to that old Politico report, without any effort at all, on your part, to ascertain the truth.

https://themoscowproject.org/dispat...ukraine-that-interfered-in-the-2016-election/

The original report about the Ukrainian American working for the DNC has been rejected by the very news organization that published it.

  • Some Congressional Republicans continue to point to an outdated January 2017 Politicostory that said former DNC contractor Alexandra Chalupa “conspired with Ukrainian officials during the 2016 election to dig up dirt on Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.” In a 2017 interview with Politico, Chalupa described communicating with the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States about her concerns regarding Manafort’s many connections to Ukraine and Russia.
  • Chalupa has since clarified to both CNN and Politico that the Ukrainian Embassy did not provide any documents to her during this effort and that she was not conducting this work on behalf of the DNC, stating, “During the 2016 US election, I was a part-time consultant for the DNC running an ethnic engagement program. I was not an opposition researcher for the DNC, and the DNC never asked me to go to the Ukrainian Embassy to collect information.” The DNC has also stated that Chalupa was not conducting research into Manafort on its behalf.
  • As The Washington Post has noted, “Politico implicitly contradicted its own 2017 story by reporting … that ‘no evidence has emerged to support’ the idea of a Ukrainian campaign.” Politico has also since stated that the original article “did not state that the Ukrainian government conspired with the Clinton campaign or the DNC.”
  • CNN fact-checkers found that House minority members’ claims that Chalupa “worked with Ukrainian embassy officials to spread dirt on the Trump Campaign” are entirely baseless.
