What's new

August 24: Enes Kanter new zeland match is starting now.>Turkey - New Zealand < LIVE MATCH HERE:)

He's also hitting for 70% the past two games. I think we've all seen a lot of rust falling off quickly over these past 6 or so games.

He has played better this game but his help defense still needs a lot of work.

The more I watch the more I think that Kanters help defense is just fine. I feel like the problem lies in the Turkish defensive schemes. The guards for Turkey rely on the big men a lot to stop everything that they let through.

Moved up to 8th in minutes (leading scorer and tied for leading rebounder). Starting to get some respect from the coaches? Nah ..

I really don't see any true defensive scheme .. or offensive scheme for that matter.

So Kanters Per 40 for the games looks like this.

Pts 33.9
Rbd 14.5
Fouls 0
TO 2.4
Ast 0

If Kanter was able to get about 16 mpg with the Jazz I could easily see a stat line of about 10 pts 6 rbd 1 ast. If he could average that his rookie season I would say that is easily worth the #3 pick is a supposedly weak draft.

They can't defend him. They should be feeding him the ball every time down the court.

And damn does he run the floor well (in both directions also).

I missed the game, but I usually respect and agree with your point of view on basketball. Very exciting. Please, someone post his highlights as soon as they're up on youtube.

It was a bit of hyperbole, as he only had a couple opportunities in the low post. The particular basket the preceded my post was an and-1 (he missed the free throw), where he ran the floor and then bullied his (mismatched) man down low.

It looks like he'll be able to do a lot of things offensively once he assimilates the Jazz offense (whatever it is Ty will be running). He runs the floor surprisingly well, has good touch on his J (purportedly), grabs offensive boards at a high rate, is virtually immovable in the low post, and plays to contact (instead of avoiding it). If he can pass the ball out of double teams and refine his post game, look out.

He sounds a lot like Kevin Love.
