2020 Presidential election

This is concerning.

Iowa is white, rural, and trump has a higher avg approval rating than most states. But if this is indicative of the handful of swing states in the rust belt that Dems need to win, then it is going to be almost impossible for Dems to win the EC in 2020. Georgia, Texas, and Arizona aren’t blue yet. So if we remain locked out in the south while Florida and the rust belt continue to slide Republican, 2020 is going to be really tough.

I hope things are looking different in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin than in Iowa.

Why has Bloomberg gained no traction? I’ve said for a decade he’d be a great President but he hasn’t really gotten any steam going. So why? My guess his ideas aren’t progressive enough. That is, they do t stand out enough to liberals like those of Bernie or Warren. I’d also guess he isn’t as seemingly passionate as them.

Some of His ideas also suck. He supported stop and frisk, a dead loser policy for African Americans. African Americans make up a significant part of the Democratic base. Alienating a big part of the base probably doesn’t do him favors.

He joined the party a little too late if he was trying to campaign as the moderate. It’s already crowded with Biden, Klobachar, and Mayor Pete.

I also think being a rich New Yorker reminds Democrats too much of a certain other person running for president.

ultimately, I wonder what could’ve been done as far as registering new voters if Steyer and Bloomberg had used their millions on those efforts rather than these vanity projects.

His gun control interview DQ'd him for me. If you want to champion a cause you kind of need to have basic knowledge about both your side of the issue and the other side of the issue. He displayed mind numbing ignorance of the other side of the issue.

But he’s totally ownin them elites!

And when one of them elitist demikrats take over next January the GOP will look to cuttin mah food stamps and social security! In yo face libtards with all your math and geometrie and smarts! Total ownage!

Trump base:

Die without healthcare to totally own them libs!

Trump lives rent free in all of these democratic candidates minds. Democratic caucus in Iowa. Big chance to get their own policies across and connect with voters/delegates. Instead they talk about Trump nonstop. Warren is speaking right now and all she has talked about is Trump LMAO.

Bernie didn't fwiw. Which isn't much of a surprise, he's probably had the best message discipline of all the candidates thus far.

A lot more anger in all this reporting than I expected. The results will get out today, they'll be trustworthy (caucus's have a unique advantage in that everyone at a precinct knows the result). I dunno man, why's everyone so angry these days?

Good post. Lots of people jumping at any opportunity to cry foul. A little perspective could go a long way, hell this isn't even all that unusual for Iowa. In 2012 the GOP said Mitt won, and then a week later decided Rick Santorum did, only it turned out Ron Paul actually ended up with the most delegates.

Anyway, if last night leads to Iowa losing its place as the jumping off point for the presidential elections, that's cool by me.

Yeah, 2012 was a lot more ridiculous than this.

I could go for some sort of rotating system for which states go first.

Lolol as I said yesterday the sheep are flocking and making excuses for rigging. Crazy that y'all can't see what's right in front of your bloody faces. Scary actually...

This does look a lot like last election where Bernie was screwed out of the nomination. This is concerning and should be concerning going forward. Whether you believe Trump cheated or not there is cheating going on and we need to figure out a way to make the whole process legit. It's quickly losing it's legitimacy.
