TURKEY-SERBIA : The last chance

7 minutes. He was 2-4 (one miss was a tip that he grabbed and put in...so 2 of his 3 rebounds) fg, 0-2 ft for 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 turnover (on a bull **** traveling call). His one actual miss, he got a nice pass and went up for the dunk, but then the ball came loose or something...I would've liked to see a replay, as I was unsure why that would have happened. A block? Foul? I don't know.

it was clear actually, he just jumped as he is gonna dunk two handed hammer, but he changed his mind when he is on air and wanted to lay up and then he messed it up

meh. He's committing too much to the guards defending PnR's this game. One time he stuck with the guard in the post, and the dude found Kanter's man open down low, forcing Hedo (?) to hack him hard. After Savas came in, Kanter had to guard a much more mobile 4, and was shaken one time, leading to a pretty wide open J (which was fortunately missed). He seems a bit tired or something, not sure.

1-5 from the line the last 2 games. Strange...maybe he's just frustrated.

last game, turkish team had a FT record of 10/22

**** it. he's 19.

Turkey's very lucky to be down by only 8. They should try riding Preldzic and Kanter in the second half. They're the only players who've shown an ability to put pressure on the defense for Turkey this tournament.

They won't, of course, but they should.

Yikes. Should have thrown that **** down. Maybe he was too far out.

As i said, Enes needs to learn some stuff in basketball which arent fundamental, but these small details which makes your game better. He has amazing potential as i see, he can get better and better

For those who are Turkish: I'm curious as to what Turkish basketball fans are saying about Turkey's troubles. Are there those who say Kanter needs to be a bigger part of the attack. Or are we the only ones?

Despite the mistakes in this game (dunk, getting shaken, etc.), it's clear that Kanter is the only player Turkey has who can make something happen in the post. Neither Savas nor Asik have any post moves worth mentioning. Why they haven't tried to take advantage more often (along with Preldzic's ability with the ball in his hands and Asik's ability in PnR's), I don't know. Dribbling around and taking contested jumpers has never been a high percentage play in basketball. It seems that's what Turkey goes with 75% of the time.

As a Turk, I have trouble understanding Coach Ene's stubbornness to go small when our forté is our O in the paint.
I don't see why he almost never uses Enes & Omer Asik side by side. Maybe it's because he used to be a PG: he has a tendency to think small. :)
From now on, every team Turkey plays will just defend our bigs & challenge our PGs & wings.

I believe any poster on this forum would have done better with our team than Ene. He was a fantastic point guard but it is the biggest basketball torture to watch him ruining our best basketball generation.

i dont discuss the games with turkish fans but i listen the commentators, they already mentioned before the game that kanter should take more mins today due to serbias weakness in post defense

Kanter with another easy miss, but he's 2-4 in this half and 2-2 from the line with 2 more rebounds. Really putting pressure on the Serbian D. Back to the bench...Hopefully Ene is smart enough to play him in the 4th.
