This is the end game? This is where we’re going with Trump, Barr, Fox, and the Republicans? I hope not, but it sure sounds like it. Easy to see Trump and Barr being down for this. You have to have no mind of your own. We are indeed living in a crackpotocracy.

Jason Stanley, a Yale University professor who studies authoritarianism and propaganda, posits that the endgame for Trumpworld is to bring many of the baseless conspiracy theories about Obama, Trump, and other prominent Democrats that fall under the umbrella of “QAnon” into real life.
"They are reverse-engineering reality to fit their crazy conspiracy theories,” he explained. “They're trying to find any possible story that they can tell by taking things out of context and fitting them into their conspiracy theory.”
Stanley said Trump’s manic tweeting about “Obamagate” and the Justice Department’s actions in the Flynn case are clear statements of their intentions.
"This is a known feature of authoritarian governments — they create the reality of their lies,” he said. “They're telling people the story that they're going to manufacture, and to reverse-engineer reality to make true their vision of it, and that will require cherry-picking things because reality is just not convenient … and any counter-evidence is just evidence that there was a conspiracy against them to begin with.”

Democrats getting caught red handed in a 3 year + long attempted coup of the president of the United States and his associates and yet somehow in your eyes this is some alternative reality situation.
Well, in some ways, you're right. It is not the norm for Democrats to actually be called to task on their treasonous actions but here we are, with documentation to back up the DOJ etc.
Looking forward to the hammer dropping on all of these treasonous thugs, including Obama.

It really does feel like a repeat of the Birth Certificate and Hillary's emails and pizza parlor. These conspiracies are becoming ever more prevalent and complicated. Like, it almost feels like a foreign language the way Trumpworld is talking about "unmasking" Obama. As if Obama kept it a secret that the government had been investigating Flynn and discovered that he was a bad actor. That's why they told Trump about him. They told him that he'd been compromised with improper communication with Russia. Trump even fired Flynn. So again, it's not like any of this was a secret.
Our anti-bodies working to protect our country from bad actors like Flynn and Russia is exactly what they should be doing. Trumpworld attacking our own immune system to distract from his administration's pathetic response to a pandemic is peak Trump.
The question is, will it work? In my opinion, these stupid conspiracies are having diminishing return. The electorate might've fallen for it with Hillary in 2016. But in 2020, I have a feeling that these conspiracies will fall on deaf ears to anyone outside of the deepest swamps of Trumpworld

correct. you’re absolutely right. It really doesn’t matter what the previous president did or didn’t do as less than 5 months ago Donald’s lawyers argued that presidents could do anything.
In very Orwellian fashion, Donald is attacking a president for actually caring about national security while gaining nothing personally. While Donald’s argument is that his selfish actions in blackmailing Ukraine That only benefitted his re-election were for national security. I mean George Orwell literally couldn’t make this up.
Do Trumpers think we’re as stupid as they are? Like we all remember that Donald fired Flynn, right?

We are poised to embark on another cycle of stupid, as the president makes up another dumb thing and everyone pretends to take it seriously and Weigh the Evidence of whether this obviously phantasmagorical ******** actually happened. This time, it's "Obamagate," a truly meaningless portmanteau the president really tried to make happen as part of his 126-tweet Mother's Day episode, a more than 24-hour meltdown and a bang-up use of time during a global pandemic when the United States' response is among the worst in the world. Already, you can feel the credulous Objective News Media headlines coming: "President Trump Accuses Obama of Worse Than Watergate." Never mind whether there is any evidence for it, or whether it even makes any sense at all.

I don't realistically expect any Trump sycophant or apologist to understand this. I do believe the truth will out. But I expect it will be a very long painful road to that destination. It will be up to a better informed future generation of Americans to come to terms with understanding how it was possible for their forebears to have gone so far off the rails, to have abandon reason, to have trashed discriminating intelligence, to have left unrealized the ability to distinguish truth from propagandized-oriented fiction. But for now, the struggle will be very difficult, and I do not expect Trump apologists to understand how damaging Post Truth is to a government dependent on an informed electorate to function in a manner that can be described as healthy.
