Agreed, Trumpism won’t magically go away if he loses in November. Pretty sure Trump won’t go away either. He could invest in OANN to rival Fox News and use it stay relevant. He could even run again in 2024 or at least keep that option open. Does anyone really think Trump will slither away quietly? Or that his reactionary base will moderate? More likely Trump finds ways to lather up his base and they become even more reactionary.

Yep we done ****ed up allowing him to win in 2016.

If anything, you should move up the election before we get deep into a challenging flu season. And let's be realistic, that's not happening either. The House would never agree to postpone the election.

Mmm, you mention people not wanting to see but you are not aknowledging the fact that US has some of the highest hidden subsidies in the world in the agriculture sector. See for example cotton. I'll dig some numbers on a research I did for Duke University but feel free to check their Global Value Chains studies in the meantime.

ya know...... I do a little farming but nobody has ever sent me a check from the guvmint or anywhere. My stuff goes through the auctions here and there, and buyers competitively bid with either a meat packing plant in Colorado or some local feedlots?butchers. Most of my beef ends up on the table in casinos/resorts in Vergas.

But for the corporates, it's all different. I don't think you need any exaggeration to make this case. When Trump brags about what he's doing for "farmers", he means the corporates, not the family farms/ranches. I bet most of it goes to California or the Midwest or the South, where there are some corporates with enough clout to hold a place in the handout line, with next to nothing for Utah. I have to make an exception in Nevada, where Elko country is practically owned by the big gold mine corporates. They have bought up all the ranches because there's gold in all that mud. So they are no dboubt paying somebody to sit in the USDA office to take their check home.

And I bet there's enough of that corporate presence in Agriculture that is owned outright by the Chinese, they just smile that wise knowing smile while they rake in our Guvmint checks too.

Calling Trump's big appeal to mainstream Americans some kind of off-centered "reactionary" phenomena is just stupid. Americans have been voting this way for years, in large numbers. They keep electing people who promise all the stuff Trump has done, but most politicians campaigning on traditional American values have betrayed their constituents when they got to Washington, going along with the Chamber of Commerce and/or RINO Establishment. Even Trump has done justice to his voters, because he's been too damn willing to deal out the deals he thinks it takes to "get along with people", the people of "influence".

Trump wont run again, but I bet DJT jr does, and there are lot of viable choices among his inside support group.

No we are not "reactionary". What a bunch of BS to set up a fake political agenda and throw out labels like that for people who just know it's a damn lie. The Progressives are not "Progress", they are a throwback to Colonialism, dressed up in fabulous new terms, but still the same old power seekers and exploiters of everyone.

Most of Trump's voters want real progress that involves good sense in government that's accountable to the voters.

Trump won't delay the vote, but he will be actively investigating various sorts of fraud, and he will find enough to be concerning. Well maybe not personally, but there will be a lot of people doing that.

If he loses, he will not do anything crazy. But he will become a cause that will rally a lot of Americans to oppose the corruption in Progressive government officers and bureaucrats. Biden will not have much smooth sailing.

Under the US constitution, Mr Trump does not have the authority to postpone the election himself. Any delay would have to be approved by Congress. The president does not have direct power over the two houses of Congress.

He’s trying to distract from today’s awful economic news.

Also, you’re not the target of his attacks. He’s laying the groundwork for his low information base to question the election results, bring guns to polling places and capitol buildings, and to make governing impossible for Democrats. Just as we saw Republicans act under Obama and what we’ve seen his do during this pandemic.

you can’t tell me that Florida isn’t one of if not thee state he’s targeted. If Trump tells DeSantis to **** with the election, he’ll do it. Same goes for Kemp in Georgia.

That’s why his loss needs to be epically bad and total. It needs to be a complete blowout. So even if Florida wets the bed, it won’t matter. I’d love to see Ohio, Arizona, and Texas go blue this fall. That would send a message.

I might have an error here for all I know. But I've heard a son of Trump who is also named Donald. I don't know his middle initial. But I was referring to this articulate and somewhat charismatic son of Pres. Trump. I think he uses the Jr. in his name.

I assume you mean “Too Much and Never Enough” by Mary Trump. I’ve read numerous excerpts and reviews, but I’m not inclined to buy the book as I don’t think I need anymore confirmation as to his family dysfunction and his behavioral and developmental disorders. For example, it’s been obvious to me for many years, ever since I first started hearing and reading about him, that Trump is a man-child with daddy issues. Is there new information about which you were especially surprised? Anything you might want to share would be appreciated.
