RUMOR: Boozer to Miami?

According to a rumor on ESPN Insider and the Miami Herald, the Jazz are talking with the Miami Heat about sending Boozer and Korver to the Heat for Beasley and O'Neal. Not sure how I feel about it. I do what something in return for Boozer and adding Korver into the mix would be beneficial as well, why not? Beasley still is a talented player and could be developed in a good system. Maybe a play like Utah and a coach like Sloan would be good for him. O'Neal is getting older but could still be a productive center especially for a team like us who desperately needs some help at the position.

Isn't O'Neal a FA? O'Neal would have to agree to a very big pay cut so Jazz could stay under LT. If so this might be worth looking at.

This rumor is retarded.

Even if both teams wanted to do this, it would be pretty tough to pull off sign and trades with three unrestricted free agents in one deal.

We're not going to get back a better player than Beasley in an S&T. It's a gamble, but Utah definitely has the right culture to get him back on track. I can't figure how we get O'Neal in all this, but at the right price he can definitely be a great addition.

Wow. I would be all over this, though I know both players would be a gamble. I think O'Neal would significantly help our 5 position, assuming he doesn't fall apart before or during the season, and Beasley would be in a good position to redefine himself. He likes the weed, which might be a problem (let alone a problem for an asthmatic), but he thrived in Manhattan, Kansas (where I lived for four years) and let me tell you the night life there isn't any better than SLC. I don't think he's as bad as advertised, but I do think he's got some growing up to do. If Sloan can't get him on the straight and narrow he's out of work in the NBA and passing the dutchie to any number of other chuckers who favored the lifestyle of an NBA player over being one.

I like this line-up a lot:
D-Will/Price/Scrub
Matthews/Miles
Miles/AK/Haywood
Sap/AK/Beasley
O'Neal/Memo/Fes

We dump Koufos and suddenly have some bigs to throw at LA. Do we beat LA? Probably not, but I think we're more competitive.

I think its a pretty good return. I like the Gortat/Bass or the Battier/Scola deals better though.

Hell yes, this trade at least gives us the potential to be better.

You need to learn to stay in character. David would never want us to be potentially better.

I give it 1/2 stern-buttons* out of 5.

The 3 free agents in a sign and trade is possible but I just don't see how it could work out. Too much room what that many agents to have things go wrong. All it takes is one of them to say "wait i don't like this" at the last minute to try to leverage getting a little bit more and it would throw the deal off.

I am not totally sure how the rule works but, as far as I know, since Miami is under the cap, salaries of players subject to the trade does not have to match. So why would not the teams try sign&trade Boozer vs Beasley. Then teams can chase other free agents mentioned ( Korver & O'neal).

This is my thinking also.

Why make things so confusing by adding Korver and O'neal?

Unless, The Jazz really want O'neal and can get him cheap.

Am I the only one that was under the impression that O'neal sucked last year and his body was basically giving out on him?

I guess I could look up stats or something but I dont feel like it.
