A non-Dwight Howard Trade Idea with Orlando

JJ's white so it's an automatic yes, right?

A blanket and general apology to all Jazz Fanz for my off-season/lockout behavior .. I'm punchy and would prefer to not be held accountable for my plethora I've stupid and irrelevant posts, if at all possible.

Not necessarily terrible, but it's a lateral move, and doesn't make the Jazz younger nor immediately better, so in the end, it's a waste of time.

Lateral? We get a poor version of Millsap in Brandon Bass. Nelson and Harris may be a wash, but I would still take Harris over Nelson. JJ Reddick? I guess he would be an upgrade over Miles, but not much of one.

Look at that. You just described a lateral move.

I think he was intending to point out that the team actually would regress with this trade, not move laterally. Hope I'm not coming across as douchey, just pointing out what I think he meant.

I think Jameer Nelson's game would age much better and fit in better even though he is older. I like that part.

I would say Jefferson and Harris are the two best players involved in this trade, so no. Just...no.

Anyway, Redick is overrated somehow and we have the rich-man's Brandon Bass already. So this makes a lot of sense.

No, it really doesn't significantly change the Jazz' outlook short term nor long term. No younger players, no better players. No draft picks. No shorter contracts. Only thing they'd get is one extra player while owing slightly less money overall. The Jazz' record won't significantly change with or without this trade. Thus, it's a lateral move and pointless.

I'm not commenting on the larger trade, but if you can get Jameer Nelson for Devin Harris, you've won (getting a player that ages better and a better system PG all for $3 million less per year).

In three years, I think Devin Harris might just be a poor-mans Andre Miller.

Jazz don't need a system PG because they have no system. By the time they figure out how Kanter, Favors, Burks and Hayward all fit, Nelson will be gone. As will Harris most likely.

I agree with DD - this trade is just shuffling the chairs arounds.
