Anthony Davis

Do we need to face a fully healthy Lakers team to claim that we’re the best team?

I don’t recall anyone giving the Nuggets an * for beating us last year even though We’re not the same team without Bogie. One could easily claim that we would’ve been in the WCF and potentially have won a championship had Bogie played. Right?

Did anyone give the warriors an * when they beat the Irvingless and Loveless Cavs?

Is Toronto’s championship a fraud?

sorry, but thems the breaks. Staying healthy is an important part of winning a championship. The lakers knew what they were getting with Glass Davis.

Claiming that we couldn’t have beat the Lakers if they were healthy. Forever having “AD was out with injury” accompanying any historical reference of us winning it all.
Meh. I don’t see that. No one thinks that way with the warriors beating the injured plagued cavs or with Toronto beating a ravaged warriors team.

I agree with you.

Except Davis "out with injury" is baked into the cake. That's the book on that guy. If he's out, Lakers should just feel lucky he wasn't last year.

That said, Lebron has been playing MAJOR minutes this year because the Jazz are putting pressure on the 1 seed. Lakers are playing with fire with the amount of minutes Lebron and Davis have been grinding.

last season’s shortened and divided schedule played right into the Lakers hands...glass Davis made it through and Lebron got his rest...

Yeah, not gonna mince words here, this is a really terrible thing to hope for. I know he's a Laker, but it's still a human being we're talking about here.
He has 300 million dollars that he can use to wipe his tears at night. Sorry, but with my wife and I having just gotten over Covid(we're frontline and better believe we're getting paid a thousandth of what Davis is), I find it hard to feel sorry for Davis suffering an injury that has 0% likelihood of shortening his lifespan.

I’ll happily take any space in the race for the first seed from this, but I’d be happier if the Lakers lost in the playoffs at full strength.

In either case, sucks for AD. Not cheering for him to be unwell.

You don't have to feel sorry for him, but hoping that it's really bad is straight up disgusting and inhumane. There's no way around it.

Also valid and thank you for your service.

I'd much prefer to face the Lakers at full strength to know who we really are against them.

Wishing injury on guys isn't cool.

This could have huge implications. It'll spark an arms race for this year's title. Mark my words.
