Andy Larsen is on point

Shaq Harrison was an awful point guard, but he would've been preferable on defense to Oni and most anyone we have on the bench.
He's a wing who can handle the ball a little. I realize what he is listed at and how we used him... it was dumb. Shaq is better than Oni.

Not getting Tucker is fine because at that point we literally couldn't match contracts. Not getting Torrey Craig when he was free was malpractice. I don't have those ancestor tracking things but I bet if you had Matt Thomas take one, we would find that he is related to DL in some form or fashion... its the only explanation.

Favors for Tucker works salary wise just saying.

Not the Shaq Harrison talk
Didn't have to be Shaq... but we coulda used the spot on someone better than Matt Thomas. Houston had a couple interesting wings they likely would have parted with for a second and some cash. Torrey Craig... hell just sign GR3 off the damn scrap heap... he is likely more playable than Oni.

When the front office sucks this hard at filling out the end of the roster you get talk of guys like Shaq... sorry.

This is my biggest complaint about Mitchell's passing. I get that he is short so this isnt the most comfortable pass, but that's an easy lob that doesnt have to be thrown hard. Tons of small PG's hit this pass. It shouldn't be hard and it's 100x better than the BS shot he put up moments later. I feel like he misses this pass to Gobert at least once per game.

I can be down with Craig, but Shaq would get 0 minutes on this team in this series. He got 2.5 per game in a series his team got swept and absolutely needed any help.

I feel like it’s a trust thing. I don’t think many of them have faith in Rudy catching anything besides a lob dunk.

He might get Oni minutes. While neither can hit a shot, Shaq at least can fight through screens and has better hands on defense.

I have serious doubts that there were vets who wanted to come to Utah that would crack our rotation. And the odds of using our draft picks to get rotation players for this years team is more than a complete crap shoot. Like it or not, we have to make tradeoffs in how we build a roster, even if are willing to go in the tax. I still think Larsen is naive in the way he talks about building a roster. Very easy and almost amusing at times to arm chair quarterback that issue but very little substance, including much of what is suggested on this board. Flame away.

It is fair to say DL and the front office blew it by signing Favs and Clarkson and should gone a different direction with wing defenders. Acting like we could have signed both of those guys and brought in the type of wing defenders who can shoot the 3 is living in fantasy land, especially in this market.

And we think Craig would come here and Craig would crack the QS rotation? And he is the difference maker that turns this around?
Torrey Craig cracks the rotation of a team that is ranked second in the league and currently sits comfortably in the WCF. Why wouldn't he crack our rotation here.

We don't need him to be the so-called difference maker. But at least he provides a valid alternative so we don't have to keep watching ten minutes of Niang every night when he was CLEARLY struggling and clueless on the floor

GM’s job is judged based upon results not on hindsight. Cam Payne/Torrey Craig worked for the suns and Matt Thomas/Ersan didn't. Simple as that.
Ersan was fine this year when he played and Thomas wasnt added for this year.

I mean they could have traded for Craig... he literally was offloaded for $100k... no one had to make any decisions. That’s not fantasy land at all... we gave up more for Matt Thomas.

And the draft is a crap shoot but go back and look at draft night when I lost it cuz we took a center we surely were going to bring in a vet to bury them on the roster... I literally was cornered and asked to pick one dude and chose Bane.

Does having Bane and Craig change our world... maybe, maybe not... but those are two options Quin could use that he doesn’t have. Neither guy needed to pick us...

The narrative of stupid fan/media boy knows nothing is pretty annoying. The front office has a hard job and there are parts of this they totally messed up... calling them on it is perfectly fine.

But that is it... we were a title contender this year... and had clear needs... Ersan isn’t good enough to replace Niang or Favs apparently... he must really suck in practice right?
