Republican Presidential Debate

This is the best the Republicans have? Jesus.

One thing that struck a chord with me is how 18% of our GDP is spent on healthcare, the largest percentage in the world, with 2nd place being just 12%. That's a huge gap.

Some buttnutt couldn't name the three agencies of government. His reply, "No, I can't. Oops."

<shakes head>

These are our potential leaders? Really?!!!

How about someone like Warren Buffet? Or Bloomberg? Maybe he's a democrat now, I forget. Hell, I hate the fat**** but Chris Christie would wipe the floor with these clowns.

I didn't watch tonight, but I love how they switch up one little element(having them sit at a table instead of standing at a pulpit, trying to keep it an economic issues only debate, throwing supposedly hard questioning reporters at them, etc.) and expect the debates to be totally different just because they are airing on different channels. They always seem to go down pretty much the same.

Agreed. I would like to see Christie run in place of this field. Frankly I think our choices in this election are as bad as bush vs Kerry. Maybe worse.

As opposed to what currently resides in the White House?

This whole thing is laughable. As if the person in the White House has anything to do with what's going on in the country. It's one giant facade.

Exactly! A true leader/president would rise above all this pig grease and make a difference. I see nobody on the horizon that can do this... with one exception. He chose not to run so I get suckatude in 2012.

That said, can anything be worse than what we have?

Don't ask that question. We usually find out what could be worse when we say something like that.

I thought you were saying Jesus was a Republican. IMO he would be the best of the lot if he was running, but do you think the Christian voters would believe he was the real deal?
You know the Jewish Voters would miss him...

Trout's best political post ever and you can tell he is just mocking.

I still don't get people complaining about the grouping. Ginrich and Romney are extremely bright guys. If you believe in this political system, if you believe that all this rhetoric actually manifests itself in the context of a presidency and it's not just for show right now, then those two should be extremely appealing. Ginrich seems to be a guy that is presenting himself as a sensible far right leaning guy these days, Romney's got the middle covered. That's about as good as it can get from Republicans.

Although, I guess somebody did mention Warren Buffet, one the world's most corrupt human beings these days. A guy that used to be a great investor yet is completely worthless now. A guy that can barely speak without crapping his pants from the excitement of hearing his own mumble jumble voice echo, so I guess I can see where you're coming from.

Warren Buffet was a bad call I guess. I was simply thinking of someone who's been successful with money.

That said, a few other things caught my attention last night. I may be off a bit on the details as I was falling asleep while watching/listening.

1) Evidently, China has dug a 3,000 mile tunnel underground in which they're storing nukes. Holy ****. Is this true? Sorry, but we're ****ed.

2) 90% of loans or something is through Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac...or some ****. That's ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

3) A couple finance companies applied for billions in more bailout money. Awesome. Glad to see it's working wonders.

4) South Carolina and Georgia, as predicted by some magazine or other media outlet, will become the epicenter for manufacturing internationally by 2015. I found that interesting.

5) 9/9/9...for you economists out there, does this tax plan make sense and if so or if not, why?

Man Romney had a great week and he didnt even have to do anything. Cain and Perry are just self destructing on their own.

LOL!

Perry showing some great intellectual strength last night.

Seriously, I think his brain farts showed why it's absolutely necessary to know and believe what you preach. Instead of just reading off your party's mindless dogma or whatever your aid typed up for you.
