I think it should be the person who originally selected the player, because we were supposed to be selecting the year at the time we made the selection in the first place and doing it another way might open a pandora's box.

I'm not sure how to cleanly resolve when a player is drafted but their "best"/most ideal year isn't selected, then they are traded.

Whatever year the original drafter chose is what player you’re getting. Problem with Pippen is Wes didn’t state it at time of drafting him.

So this is funny. But. Like. At most, you could do the trade simultaneously, which is yet again a gray area that we haven't explored and I'm frankly not wanting to explore.

I think the board of governors/GMs/league office should weigh in here. Also, did we ever get an official ruling on allowing cross-era trades (from the "first-half" picks)? I honestly think this flouts the rules.

There was two reasons I had to take him
1. Like you said I think he works as a sixth man rather than a starter
2. There was quite litterallly no one else worth picking from 2000-2009 smh

As far as the rules, I trust the consensus here. We can always vote on it after the draft and before the playoffs too.
