Jazz Offseason Plan

All the noise from New Orleans is just so bad. I have no idea why they want to try and get Kyle Lowry with Zion and the other guys wanted Ball back. Just keep Ball and operate over the cap... to get space they need to waive Ball's cap hold making him unrestricted, same thing with Josh Hart, then you need to find a home for Bledsoe or Adams by giving up assets... all that for Kyle Lowry for a couple years?

I'm really hoping that we'll be able to move Favors contract and then keep both Bogey and Joe. I think both guys have way more value to the team than anything we could get back for them.

It’s a suped-up version of DL-style move. Bleeding assets for an aging PG. Gorgeous.

“He loves their medical staff.”

Clearly DL is still Woj’s source here.
Yeah JZ gonna have to fight to get in Wojs good side… we will know when it changes because the focus will turn to the fact that they need to dump Favs salary because “at the time when they signed him the leadership believes he could be more than just a backup 5 and that isn’t the case”… something like that.
For what it's worth:

It also seems to be doing it in the stupidest way possible. If you can get Kyle in a sign and trade for Lonzo then go for it... clearing out cap space after the moves they made last year is fireable. If I was the owner and he came in pitching this "plan" I'd likely already be looking at replacements.

I don't know how to perfectly capture my thoughts on if Ingles got traded for salary relief, but I think saying that the Jazz will be forever cursed and will deserve it might sum it up.

Let's please keep talking about Favors, Bogey, and/or Clarkson. Bless their hearts too. You just can't go out and grab a Joe Ingles somewhere, but you can find a backup center easily, a big shooter, and/or a microwave scorer.

I actually think this is likely the best way of thinking... I just don't think Joe has the trade value the other guys do but then again maybe other GMs don't understand who Joe is... I think they would be getting a super ****** version of Joe if they trade for him.

Agree... I am fine with trading Bogey and JC... Favs obvi but that seems to be too tough.

Not sure why you'd assume this (unless there's more context behind it than is clear). It's possible that it's what it means, I suppose, but that's a pretty all-purpose phrase/tweet. Not even sure why the Jazz would have made a decision on him at this point.

(But I like Forrest.)
Because Don liked the tweet, and because God is good when good things happen to people, and one of the best things that could happen to Forrest right now is keeping his NBA roster spot.

Which is also why other teams would rather have Joe Ingles than the other guys you are mentioning.

To me, the best guy to move is Bogey if there are takers.

Favs and DM are super close. I think that means a Favs trade needs to be something that looks less like a pure salary-cutting move—making things harder as far as that goes. But I think it’s still possible to have a couple trades, with one including Favors, that result in a team-improvement narrative.

He made the same tweet May 25, May 16, March 30, November 19. The last one at least seems to be when he signed with the Jazz. So maybe you're on the right track. But it's also true that it's a go-to tweet for him.

They should want the other guys more imo. They won't get a locked in version of Joe. I just don't see him being super excited to move his family for a six month stint with a team before he goes back to Australia. I think they'd almost have to extend him a year to get some real buy in. Remember how different he looked the year Jacob was diagnosed with autism. His non-basketball stuff could really bother his on court stuff.

Whatever we do will have to have a team improvement narrative attached with all the “we plan to contend” messaging going out.

Giving stuff up to get off that salary would be a tough look for the locker room. If you could move JC maybe do that while getting assets and go back to the Joe and Favs pick and roll bench. Stop doing that weird **** substitution thing with Rudy maybe. IDK.

Maybe we should spend more time trying to imagine what Danny Ainge would do (including floating all sorts of rumors without consummating most of them; stabbing players in the back, metaphorically speaking; oops, maybe I'm speaking the stereotypes too loudly?)

Isn't he still technically employed by the Celts, or did he cut ties completely with them?

Every single sign I see points to a Bojan trade. It makes twice as much sense as any other trade involving Joe, Favors or JC. Value, fit, contract, everything.

That early sub-pattern for Rudy meant that Rudy and Mike played oodles of minutes together against opposing bench units. It was a regular-season feast. Emphasis on REGULAR SEASON.

He still is in a consulting role with the Celtics... but as we know he has no time leveraging "personal relationships" and working in the shadows. So for now he's just Ryan's golfing buddy... kind of...

DL is also in a consulting role and is by all means completely out of the picture.
