Now that we’ve done this, I think we could tweak a few things to make it even better.
My suggestion would be 31 rounds total.
1 Head Coach. 1 QB. 1 K. 5 offensive linemen.
Minimum of 11 offensive starters and 11 defensive starters with all 8 of the extra picks being flex to use however you want. Use your 30 picks to build the best damn team you can in the style of play that you like best.
• Want to draft 7 WRs and a 3rd down receiving back? Great.
• Build an option offense around a mobile QB and hella good TEs, FBs and RBs? Odd, but totally doable.
• Invest in players that can create a flexible defense that can easily shift between a 4/3, 3/4 or a 4/2/5? No problem.
• If you want to go a bit crazy and use one of your roster spots to add a backup QB? Have at it.
Each team would be fun and unique in the differences - just like real football.
