Tonight is exactly what I want clarkson shot chart to look like.
14 attempts? fabulous (lots of shots around the paint)
5 three point attempts? Great (and most were catch and shoot rather than off the dribble)
a couple of free throws and 3 assists. zero turnovers.
All that equals a +12 in the plus minus stat.

He has chilled out on jacking up bad threes lately and looks so so much better.
 
The one-game Ainge takeaways are maybe kept Bojan and Jordan. Obviously seeing that we struggle with perimeter guys, people like Jackson and Bledsoe looking way too comfortable getting their points, and our default defender on the perimeter not being able to stay in front of a mailbox post.

Those would be some good takeaways with easy solutions.
 
538 giving us a 41% chance to make the finals. That seems abnormally high, even for a model. Was it even that high when we were up 2-0 on the Clippers?
 
Well… that was okay. Not sure if it showed us anything. Lue didn’t go small and I don’t recall him going to that hated zone. We know we can score on them. But I’m unsure if we can stop them. They scored with ease despite being without push off, kawhi, and Batum. Not exactly instilling confidence that we can beat them in a playoff once they’re healthy.

I actually agree a lot with this. Possessions almost don’t matter since the game is so fast paced and 3 balls are chucked so much. I miss having players play in the post, use angles, and value possessions. I’m probably in the minority here.
 
Jingles is a weird player these days. He’s either Manu off the bench or crappy CJ. No in between. His shot was so short tonight. No trash talking. I guess he did pick up a tech. So there’s that. Glad Clarkson had a good game or otherwise we would’ve been in trouble

Unfortunately 538 can’t predict that our elite RS defense can turn into historically bad suddenly in the playoffs.

I don’t know how high it was last year, but we we’re definitely strong favorites at that point in time. It’s working off our point differential, and there’s strong reason to believe this point differential we hold is real because we’ve already done it.

On paper, the defensive breakdown looks like a complete aberration even though it’s happen 2x in a row. Hopefully this is the year where we can play even average defense, because if we do we’re winning the championship.

Everyone clowned on the Bucks…until they won. Even in the middle of their playoff run against the Nets people clowned on them. But they won and the numbers would have told you that this was expected and their previous collapses were the aberrations. Pray to the basketball gods that we will be the same.
 
Who was handstein or whoever Zoo’s backup? That Big Al push shot looked sweet. He seemed pretty nimble. Can we trade Doka for him? He looked rather serviceable.

They scored with ease?? They scored 103 points. They scored 44 points in the second half. This is what they do. Stop flapping your butt cheeks!! Idiot
