Trade deadline discussion

Lol the Kings are such a trash organization.
I honestly thought the GM was doing well. I thought he had maybe convinced Vivek to chill... this is a GM under owners pressure to do something. So dumb... this is how perpetual rebuilds happen.

Congrats to the Pacers though. One year in the dumpster and they will come out smelling like a rose.

NOP are just the dumbest. They were in such a great position when they drafted Zion... Had so many assets and some good young players that fit with vets. This is why you don't swing from "asset accumulation-patience mode" to "win-now mode".

Sell of Holiday for picks, let Lonzo walk to sell off some picks to get Grahamn, sell some picks off to go from Adams to JV, cash in on Hart and picks to take on the bloated deal of CJ. This is simply a GM trying to save his job by winning 2-3 more games this year and hoping to do well in the play in. Weird ****.

To be devil's advocate, it's easy to stay in "asset accumulation-patience mode" when you have no stake. The reason they are in such a pressured position to win now is because Zion himself might demand out soon. People get so excited about OKC and their treasure chest of assets, but that could very well be meaningless to the important decisions makes. The owners, current players, and FO members trying to keep their jobs don't give a damn about being patient if the goal is to win now. We can call those guys idiots, but if they were in patience mode Zion is gone and so are their jobs.

The Pelican's have only had two playoff appearances in the last decade. They're in a good position to outperform their last decade (damning with faint praise I know) with this roster they put together.

This is why you just continue to call stupid teams... If this was their offer for Sabonis I would want to see what the offer for Rudy would have been. I don't want to move Rudy but Jebus if they gave that for Sabonis the Rudy offer needs to be 2x that.
Would never be smart enough to trade a player near his prime in order to get the load that Indiana just did for Sabonis.

Second year player... in a terrible environment... for a non-rim protecting big... the **** you doing KANGS!!!!

Nets are smart enough to know that Irving/Harden/Durant isn’t going to work. I still think Simmons gets swapped.
The league is drunk right now and I'm too busy for this **** today...

Same lol. Can’t believe they traded Halliburton and didn’t get a top-20 player in the deal. Halliburton and picks gets you a player like Paul George. He’s the SGA of the deal the Thunder did. Not Domantas Sabonis.

Oh its job preservation. I honestly think they never get a locked in Zion so if NOLA management and ownership were smart they'd look at what the trade market is and stop trying to build around him to make him happy.

Its hilarious that a guy comes in and is always hurt and then is pressuring the team to get better or he's out... He's given them like half a season of awesome basketball.

Dont like Sabonis at all really, but I think it's a good move for the Kings.

Haliburton really good, but dont think he is ever going to be the player who gets the Kings to the playoffs.

Sabonis/Fox/Barnes is a solid trio.

Maybe they can go out and get Jerami Grant now?

Trash move for the Kings. What in the **** is Sabonis/Fox/Barnes going to do? Make the play-in game?

I think Sabonis is the best player in that trade, but the Kings have a lot to do to support Barnes and Sabonis.
The best player today but not by a wide margin. Halliburton also allows the guys around him to be their best. Sabonis is a great passer but the system must work around him... and the defense will never be good.

There is also the cap aspect here... Kings should have gotten at least one first here. This is going to end up being a terrible deal for the Kings.

If they really wanted a PF they should have done the Fox for Randle and stuff deal.

The Jazz have to do something. If they aren’t getting any value back then they need to realize they can’t compete for a championship and need to get under the luxury tax so they don’t face a repeater tax in future years.
