Trade deadline discussion

Also Boston.... White is nice but kinda redundant to Smart... then getting Theis... you have Williams and Horford. Those contracts are long... they really murdered any cap flexibility they had for a while. Weird.

Its weird that he didn't mention EP. I think he is a pretty good perimeter defender (along with forest being exceptional).
Also I think whiteside and gay and paschall (again forgetting him) are much better backup 5's than favors was.
Losing ingles actually makes us better imo.
Losing this year's version of Ingles maybe... Ingles was fire last year.

I largely agree and will enjoy the rest of the year. I didn't think we are a true contender anyway... so at least we didn't **** up our future stuff. Just want the guys to play hard and selfless... if you lose then oh well.

I do think there is a smidge of reason to hope we are better. Forrest is defending so well and he will clog up the offense at times but is overall going to help. We have guys that can push JC and Whiteside a little for minutes so hopefully we get their best efforts.

I would have loved to pull out some miraculous deal but our offers were likely trashy trash.

Very surprised the Thunder didn't use their cap space. Really good day to be a current Thunder player. Your salary just increased substantially.
Maybe. They can still make trades after the season has ended but before July 1st (free agency). Which includes the draft. This is how we got Ricky Rubio.

Ingles was our third best players in the Clipper series, without him I don't think we're a better team. I guess we hope for better luck instead. We completely ignored our greatest weakness. All we really added were guys who take a lot more shots than the guys who they replaced.

I've said this all along, but the time strike was the summer. Maybe options were limited at the deadline, but you can't convince me the Jazz didn't have moves to make between the end of last season and now. Forrest might help for 3-6 minutes, he might also give that up ten fold if teams do their scouting on him. My concern is that our best lineup has gotten thrashed year after year on defense and it's more or less the same lineup. I suppose you're getting Conley/Bogey in for Joe, but I don't consider that a defensive upgrade.

Paschall is pretty lost on defense, he doesn't have the feel and his positioning is often off. He gives up too much space to shooters because he is afraid he will be blown by. He has effort, though and that helps sometimes but he isn't a constant defensive impact.

He also plays better as a 4 and with Gay. +/- shows that as well.

Ingles' minutes need to be taken up by House but we will still play JC a ton of minutes. May be Forrest steals some minutes from JC but both Conley and Mitchell play more minutes in the playoffs.

The 3 guard line-up with Forrest looked promising, though. That could get used in the playoffs.

I feel like donovan has changed the way he plays on both ends of the floor since he has come back as well. And you can bet your *** Rudy Gobert is chomping at the bit to come back with a vengence. I bet we see the best version of rudy when he returns.

Agree to disagree. I am seeing a good defender when I watch him play.

Believe it or not, but I do respect you.

But if you honestly think that Chris Paul and Demar DeRozan are better offensive players than Donovan Mitchell, how are you a Jazz fan?
They objectively are.

DeRozan has one good year and he’s ahead of Mitchell now? Lmao
I am referring to this year specifically.

That's why I also didn't include players like Dame.

If NAW thrives in this system, trade deadline will make a whole lot of sense. Fingers crossed!
NAW really needs to distinguish himself from Clarkson, aka Quins favorite player, in order to see some meaningful minutes. Learning how to play defense and handle the SF minutes would be a good start

NAW is very slight and is not physical at all. He's not someone who can guard guys bigger than him.
