Desnews: Jazz talking to Watson and AK

I certainly agree that AK should give us a discount, but not sure he would give up around 10 million for 3 years to sign in Utah

Then good riddance; the lack of AK simply gives us more minutes for Hayward and Millsap at the 3, resulting in more Favors time at the 4.

I still think AK will stay in Russia, where he can always be the man. If he comes here he will come in on a $10 mill per year salary somewhere. Better not be here though.

By the way AK is actually donating all his earnings in Russia to charity, but of course how long does he want to keep doing that? He has got to feed his family. :) If someone offers him 10 million I believe he will definitely be over. Not sure he will quite get that much though. In an interivew he did he actually did not seem entirely happy to be in Russia full time.

boy, you have really no clue who is worth what in todays NBA right? Jason Kapono last year made more then 4mil.. for your information..

Kapono was overpaid too. He is talking about signing a $1.2 million contract with the Lakers. AK is not worth close to $10 million. The Jazz overpaid the guy once they do not need to do it again. Personally, I would only keep AK if the Jazz were able to get rid of Bell or CJ. I wouldn't pay the guy more than $4-5 million which is what role players should get.

I am an AK fan, but there comes a time when you have to put Ol' Yeller down. On the flip side, if there's ever been a season to sign him, this is it. He can play his usual 66 games this year.

JSL is actually right, Jason Kapono is NOT worth 4 million. In fact, he is a free gent if Im not mistaken, and the Lakers wanna sign him for 1.3 million a year. There goes your comparison. Better luck next time.

lol, like my point was that Kapono is worth that money....reason I mentioned him is that 4 mil is nothing in these days - teams are wasting such money on scrubs like Kapono and dude thinks AK is not worth 4 mil which is ridiculous. AK will easily get his 7-8 mil and some crazy team may even offer him something in 9-10 mil range. So when somebody posts delusional numbers like 4 mil it is obvious they had no clue what even useless players like Kapono make in NBA these days.

You are correct. He will likely get that kind of contract if he comes back to the NBA. So to some other team he will be worth more than $4 million. Nice for them and for AK. He is absolutely NOT worth more than $4-5 million on the Jazz. And that is a fact.

AK can still play. Has been tearing it up in Russis. He will make more than 4 million a year and is worth more than 4 million a year.

Jesus, some morans on this board never cease to amaze me. AK's been tearing it up, brace yourself, IN RUSSIA!!! Who gives a ****. He's proven, yes proven, over the last four or five years that he can't avoid injury, can't play good ball even close to night in and night out, and can't develop or hone his craft at all. AT ALL. The dude is a serious bitch who needs to stay over in Russia. I'd consider signing him at something like two years, 12M which in my opinion is overppaying but he may like the idea of coming back here and still having the chance, two years from now, of getting one more solid contract, and not pushing himself to the brink now in that regard. And we should like the idea of having him at a decent price tag. He'd be very good trade bait for some team looking to get a defensive stopper and/or for the playoffs.

I think you calling someone a moran is very ironic. Why do you have to make things personal jackass? Is basketball that serious to you. Get a life!!!

Who made it personal? You made a truly moranic statement about AK tearing it up in Russia as if that **** means something. If you can't see that's moranic, then it would seem you have little hope. Less than AK has of being a man again anyway.

I think some team might offer AK $8mm/year. If he were in the right situation, he might be worth Stephen Jackson money. Problem is, he's injury prone, so he'll probably be in the $7 - $8mm range. I wouldn't expect him to get less than that, really.

How is that moranic smart ***? Clearly AK is still a good player and if you think our wing postion is in good shape you truly are the idiot you seem to be.

I would only want AK re-signed for the same reason I wanted Miles' option picked up (hypothetically): as trade bait.

SalmonHobo I think you gave a lot with your last post and people aren't seeing it. Its a shame really. For at least two years when I started paying attention your hate for AK was palpable. Yet today you propose re-signing him for 6 million a year for two years. That shows me you at least understand that AK has some real marketable skills. I agree. You sir are also right that AK is very injury prone.

I in fact love AK's game and want him back at the right price. For me its 3 years 15 million. If he wont take it then the Jazz should move on. Its sad to say, but if you value AK like I do around 8 million and reduce his price for inevitable injury and a little home town discount you come out to five million a year.

Thank you for what is a fair criticism yet compliment at the same time. I hate AK. I really, really hate him. But I realize he does have skills and can bring something to the table that no one else on our team can. I said two years because, and I take this from GVC, after two years his contract will be off the books and we'll be free to use a ton of money as we'll need to on many of our guys who are free agents.
