Official Record Prediction Thread

Pin this to the top please.

Everyone goes on record between now and Dec. 25 with their prediction of the Jazz record. This thread will provide some revealing info as to who are geniuses and who are embarrassingly uninformed. No editing allowed (mods see to that integral stipulation). Explanation optional.

I'll go first.

40-26

If Hayward is playing 30+ minutes a night, and Favors 25+, we have the chance to be a dangerous team (assuming they've made the progressions I saw in a vision). We know what we're going to get out of Harris, Miles, Millsap and Jefferson for the most part (none will be worse than last year, maybe better?) and anything we get out of Burks and Kanter is gravy. That's the mix for a dangerous ***** team! Assuming Ty the Basketcase doesn't foul it up!!!

Take it to the bank!

Millsap!

Very optimistic especially since we don't know what is going to happen starting friday with the crazy freeagency period opening up. I'll wait to make my perdiction till after the Jazz scrimage. At that time we should know exactly what the Jazz look like and what the competition in the west will be.

Completely understandable. I just am good at seeing into the future.

First, you used the word "official" in the thread title, so you will be duly flogged for it. Be prepared to be kickyassed.

Second, I too am somewhat optimistic about this season. I think we can be that team that other teams do not expect, and take a few wins by surprise almost.

I don't think we will quite get to .500 though.

32-34

You don't even know the roster. So many useless speculation threads.

Most of the topics discussed at the moment have been around since the regular season ended.

Well, I do know the Jazz won't lose 82 games ;-)

Crazy free agency, yes. But if some teams are big winners, then others will be big losers. It's not as if a bunch of talent might be entering the league unexpectedly. I guess if a lot of talent shifts from the EC to the WC, that would have impact on the Jazz. I think it's a good bet the Jazz will stand pat in terms of the current roster. They'll re-sign Watson and Price and be done until the trade deadline. IMO, the Jazz scrimmages will not reveal much. We know Jefferson, Harris and Millsap will carry the load, with CJ probably anchoring the 2nd unit, just as before. Kanter and Burks will be rookies and will struggle early on. Favors seems to be the biggest wild card. If he makes a huge leap then the Jazz could surprise.

Jazz were playing close to .500 near the end of the season once the dust settled from the coaching change and the new players started to get adjusted to each other. I'm going to be an optimist and say the Jazz can finish at 33-33. They'll miss the playoffs by two games and secure the last lottery spot.

30 - 36

I'm not as optimistic, too many rookies/relatively new players.

I really hope we give time to our younger guys for them to develop, especially Burks and Kanter.

I picked the scrimage more for the time frame than actually seeing our guys play. On the freeagency part of it I'm curious to see what the jazz will do (not expenting much) and what GS, Denver, NO and LAC do since they would traditional be worse teams than us but have a chance to gain or lose guys.
