I don't think playing for the rebuilding Utah Jazz was the way he envisioned his career ending.

If any self-respecting person was in his position where he still has something left in the tank and has been yanked around for the past few years, they wouldn't want to end their career on a team that is clearly rebuilding.

But sure, H-niccccccccc, you look into it and see what he feels about it. I just don't think he'd come willingly and that's a non-starter.

Any self-respecting person who signs a contract for guaranteed money, while agreeing to certain terms, should have the decency to honor their agreement. I think he's acting like a punk.

Chauncey Billups went on the record to deter teams from making a bid on him on the amnesty waiver wire.

"People take my kindness and professionalism for weakness," said Billups. "They think I’ll be OK with (getting claimed). I won’t be OK with this."

Billups is looking for the freedom to choose his own destination. He also would be able to draw a second salary if he goes unclaimed.

Chauncy is a ****ing idiot if he thinks the other owners are going to let him clear waivers just so he can run to the Heat, Lakers, Mavs, etc. That's exactly why the amnesty bid system was set up that way. They WILL bid on him, and force him to either play or retire for the year.

Considering that Billups has publicly said "DO NOT BID ON ME, I AM GOING WHERE I WANT", I don't know that I agree.

This whole situation kinda bums me out though. I liked Billups as a player, and now I've pretty much lost all respect for him. I don't blame him for wanting what he wants, but throwing threats like this around when he's under contract to get paid 14 million dollars this year just seems ****ty to me. These players want the guaranteed money, but they act like once they get it they shouldn't have to honor their agreement. Some of his quotes about how badly he's been treated just make me wanna puke. Nobody twisted his arm to sign a multi-year deal for big money. It seems to me these guys want to have their cake and eat it too.

That right there just shows you how spolied/arrogant/ungrateful these guys are.

They're paid a gazillionnnnnn times more than the average person working today to basically "play" basketball.

Billups came into the league as a shooting guard and bounced around teams until he found the Pistons. I respect Billups a lot and he just wants to play the game with a team that wants to keep him. He never wanted to get traded to the Knicks but since Melo wanted out of the Nuggets, the trade only worked if the Knicks got Billups too. I'm pretty sure Billups said he didn't want to leave Denver and then the Knicks picked up his option after the reason so It looked like they wanted him and now they are using the amnesty clause on him. I don't blame him at all. I would do the exact same thing especially when money isn't an issue anymore
