Jazz get TPE for Boozer

This is a great move. We could trade for any player(s) we want and could even get picks back in return depending on how badly people want cap space. Boozer was was over priced. This is making lemons out of lemonade.

David Lee going to the Warriors for $13 million a year according to my inside sources. Scratch him of the list of possibilities.

And IJM returns... I knew that wasn't you Honz.

Absolutely beautiful though, because we essentially don't have to mortgage the team to rebuild. We just have to find a player willing to come to Utah.

Jazz could still get involved and take back a player like Turiaf, but unlikely at this point.

Sources indicate that no S&T is involved. We could theoretically get Turiaf for Harp's TPE I would think...without taking the time that it took to write out this explanation in order to look up Turiaf's salary numbers.

It's just a PR move to say he didn't let Boozer walk for nothing in return. Does anyone honestly think we'll use it? Of course, we won't use it under the guise of "we were aggressive but the deals fell through" rather than the true reason "we have no intention of using it".

Beasley would work for the Harpring exception not the Boozer.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the trade exception could be used for a player making up to the value of the TPE. I don't think there is a limitation on a lower priced player. In other words, I think the Jazz could use the trade exception from Boozer for a player making a much lower salary.

If not, then using both the Harp TPE and the Boozer TPE would put them well into LT territory again. I just don't see that happening at this point.

With Lee going for 13 million does Millsap suddenly look like an even better deal?

A little butt-hurt that myth #2 didn't pan out for you? :p:D

Not true. Look at as if the Jazz were trading Boozer's 13M contract for another player. They have to be with 25% of each other up or down.
