Rebrand announcement coming next week

****... we in trouble. He's Vivek with an app.

Yeah….I’ve said it before, if we didn’t have good PR people would be clowning the Jazz like they do the Kings. The difference between Vivek and Ryan is that Ryan bought into a better basketball situation, but Ryan’s doing everything to get down to Vivek’s level.

Being a bad basketball team is one thing….but I don’t think people are ready for the upcoming cringe.

Everyone ***** on the "Jazz" name because Jazz has nothing to do with SLC....but it gives us really good jersey options. We can do Utah themed jerseys and jazz themed jerseys. To me it's simple, one mountain jersey (the purple is sick), one southern Utah themed jersey (the gradient jerseys are great), then two classic Jazz themed jerseys. Instead we got the cool mountain jersey and whatever the **** the other 3 are lol.

Ryan is just a typical tech bro. People lionize these guys, but more likely than not they are the products of extreme luck. Qualtrics is a company the relies on creating echo chambers for upper management, and it's no surprise that Ryan has created his own echo chamber with the Jazz.

Somehow Ryan both overthought and underthought our color schemes. The big thing he kept saying was that we don't have an identity because of our many different color schemes. He came in like this was some big deal that needed to be addressed. All of his underlings were like, "wow, that's genius, color scheme, consistency, yeah, got to do something about the color scheme."

In reality the previous guys in charge of this got it right. Just create cool looking jerseys that have the team name on them and nobody cares about changing color scheme. You would think the success of the gradient jerseys would have clued them in on this concept.

Ironically, besides the old school mountain jerseys there is no theme or identity to the jerseys. Plain jerseys with ugly, bold lettering across the front? What identity is that supposed to be?

I agree with you. Just make cool looking jerseys and no one cares about “themes” or identities. I do like when individual jerseys have their own theme, but no one cares how they fit the other jerseys. Above all else, just don’t make an ugly jersey.

Was anyone like ready to scrap the other schemes with the dark mode and the gradient colors. Those were dope... like why rebrand to this **** when that was kinda working.

Its just really hard for me to see how they pushed passed all the info on this and just pushed forward. No one but this stuff. Vote with our dollars.
They rebrand should've been one of 3 things:
1) Mountain jerseys
2) New Orleans note jerseys
3) The darkmode gradient jerseys

I honestly thought there was zero chance these would be the new jerseys because the players wouldn’t have approved them but I’m starting to realize the players weren’t asked for approval lmao.

Should have been all 3. One mountain jersey, one gradient jersey, two classic New Orleans jazz themed jersey. Everyone likes those jerseys.

This nails it.

The jerseys are UNIVERSALLY hated. That doesn't happen in a healthy, functioning organization. That only happens when the decision is made by an echo chamber.

This is just like the Kings owner wanting to draft Stauskas and everybody around him submitting to the groupthink culture that he inspires.

Nik Rocks!!!

Ryan sitting in a conference room asking everyone to say "Rebrand Rocks!!!"

Exactly.

I mean, why can't we just use our 3 best all time jerseys (mountains, gradient, and classic NOLA), and just introduce a black jersey?

From Andy Larsen’s latest article:

At first, Smith wanted the team to rebrand to simply black and white, but the league office and Nike refused that, seeing as the San Antonio Spurs and Brooklyn Nets already own that color scheme. Their compromise was this: the Jazz could go to black and white if they added a third primary color. So instead of choosing any one of the colors the team had already worn, he picked a new one: a unique highlighter yellow.

He also mentions the team knows they ****ed up and that’s why they are pushing the purple so hard. He also said he will see how fast the league and Nike allows us to move on from the black and yellow.
