Even if we don't do a Conley/Horford swap I'd inquire about Aaron Nesmith.

NAW for Nesmith works financially. He's 6'6" 215 (7'0" WS) and was a deadeye 3P shooter in college. He has struggled as a shooter in the NBA but if he can regain his shooting form he could be a nice 3&D guy.

Boston is always worried about the luxury. We could trade Conley for Horford and Nesmith which almost gets Boston completely out of the luxury. For taking on that money, they send us a future lottery protected 1st.

Horford is old, but the guy is so good.

Boston just started Horford next to Robert Williams and it seemed to work. Most would agree that Rudy is better than Williams right?

Horford could play half his minutes at PF and half at C. It doesn't take away our need for perimeter defending, but it does address our need to address 5 out lineups. Makes us a better defending team overall and more flexible come playoffs.

If we are dying to give Don/Rudy one last go, this is a good deal. If it all blows up next season, Bojan and Horford would expire. And this trade idea gets us a future first rounder.

It could work I just don't think Royce can start with that lineup, we'd need another guard that can score/playmake.

The problem is that this is effectively trading Gay’s salary for Green and adds $4M to next years books. We’d have to be sending back guaranteed salary. It’d be the equivalent of paying $15+M for the draft pick.
