What really sucks is Mike had value at the trade deadline and we likely could've gotten a good return for him. Then he struggled the second half of the season and completely turned to **** in the playoffs. It was painfully obvious by the deadline that this team wasn't even close to being a contender, and the front office knew someone of Mike's size and age could fall off the cliff at any moment. It would've been nice if they had the foresight to trade him before he completely tanked all his value.

That's the Jazz way of doing business though, holding guys for longer then we should because we're scared to make trades.

It's also just not a great offseason for us to want to be active in the trade market because most teams, particularly the good ones, are cash strapped. I agree that keeping Don/Rudy and probably Bojan is our best chance at being competitive next season. If we move Royce and resign House I don't think there's much, if any, drop off between the two.

I've been looking at potential landing spots for Mike Conley and I really just don't see a ton which is a bummer.

You guys have one guy teams want in Mitchell.
Everyone else is severely overpaid or older and highly paid. Look at my Hawks, we are having issues moving Collins because we want to improve and people only want to give us deals where we don't improve for now or the future and he's a young guy on a worthy but highly paid contract. The NBA is hard. Teams are way smarter in 2022 than in 2004.

Rudy Gobert is highly paid but he has shown that when he's on your team he essentially guarantees you 50 wins every year because he's just so damn god defensively. I think there are teams that want Rudy, I just don't think there's a team that wants him that also has all of the assets we're seeking in return.

You guys have some reason for optimism though with so many young players that have already improved there. I think AJ Griffin is going to be the best player from the draft.

If you guys keep your core together you'll still have Trae, Bogdanovic, Capela, Collins, Jalen Johnson, Huerter, and AJ Griffin who are all guys that can still get better.

Apparently teams around the league are preparing in case Kevin Durant becomes available in trade talks in the next week.

Teams don't care about that. They are trying to win titles and Gobert can get played off the floor in the playoffs and that's unacceptable for a player making more than 25 million a year.

When you get paid in the numbers he's getting come great elite expectations. Gobert is worthy of his contract but that contract plus his age will not get you anywhere near the assets you may think it would and I am a Gobert supporter.

I honestly think the Bulls White/Vucevic/1st 2023 is a good offer for Gobert. That said, that's nowhere near the value I would covet for Gobert but trade value wise. That's probably as good as it gets.

People don't care about how good your player is if he's flawed to a degree in the playoffs.

That is such a trash package. Gobert is worth way more than that.

Lukewarm. Atlanta already has said he will likely be in the Gleague to start the season which is expected. He's not even 19 yet.

Talent isn't our issue. It's our floor. We have to figure out what is the best rotation for us. That's been a difficult task for us. We also have to improve the SF and PF position from a vet stance. I would like to see Atlanta target guys like Kyle Anderson and Otto Porter Jr. Guys who can add value off the bench who are excellent team guys. JJ probably not ready for rotation play yet and neither is Griffin. Delon Wright was good for Atlanta so he needs to be back. When we were healthy last year plus Nate 1st year, our win percentage is over 60%. We just need to be healthy and have better locker room chemistry like the Braves have where they truly love each other.

Hawks really have to get back the locker room chemistry they had in the ECF season

Rudy Gobert has never been played off the floor in the postseason. I'm not sure where this notion comes from, tbh.

The reality of it is that having a player like Rudy basically guarantees that you're going to be a 50+ win team.

White sucks and doesn't provide anything we don't already have and Vuc sucks and is on an expiring deal so we'd really be trading Rudy Gobert, the player with 3 DPOY, the 4th most All-NBA votes since he came into the league for Coby White and a late first round pick?

Based on that logic, Trae Young isn't a valuable trade piece considering he's flawed in the playoffs. Averaging 15 ppg on 31% FG.

1. Gobert is not the one with the glaring flaw in the playoffs. It’s team and individual defense from the rest of the team. Gobert is the only one who consistently gives effort team wise and individually.

2. He doesn’t get played off the floor. Gobert more than holds his own on the perimeter vs. smaller quicker players. He’s actually our best one on one defender unfortunately. The jazz haven’t done **** to build around Gobert. A proper build around Gobert gets you 60 win seasons and title contention.

Did you watch this Clippers series and the Mavs series? Before you blame the others, Gobert is the one getting 37 million exclusively off defense. If he can't protect everyone with that type of pay. What's the reason to pay him that much?

Trae Young had tremendous success the previous year when we went to the ECF and both of our bigs were healthy. JC had no business out there and Capela got hurt in the play in against Cleveland. We play through our bigs offensively and the lost or limitations of those two in that series meant you can triple team and box and 1 Trae without paying for it. That's not typical of playing the Hawks with Trae on the court. There is a reason Capela has our highest offensive rating. You limit him physically and we are a much weaker squad. That said, we aren't trying to trade Trae and sell his value to you. You would be doing that for Clint.

He's getting 37 million. That's a lot of money and he's 31 years old with limited offensive value. If you really had to compare him to someone of the past, I think we would all agree, it would be Dikembe Mutombo. Look what Atlanta got for him from Philadelphia?

I disagreed. He got played off the floor. He just wasnt that effective in either of those series for a max cat. I didn't get that vibe from Mitchell who has elevated his game in the playoffs for most of his career.

Gobert didn't allow 32 ppg to a decent player that averages 19 in the other two series. That was the difference in this series... Not Gobert

Yes I did watch both series. Against the Mavericks we held them to 104 ppg for the series and they really only had two good offensive games against us. In the other 4 games we held them to 93, 99, 102, and 98. Our offenses inability to get anything going was the reason we lost that series. There isn't a single defensive player in NBA history that can protect everyone on the court in playoff basketball. Marcus Smart was just DPOY and got absolutely destroyed in the finals by Curry, lol.

Please don't ever compare Gobert to Clint. And even last year Trae was not efficient, he's a chucker in the playoffs that can easily be taken out of a game. Dude's a career 40% shooter in the postseason. So based on your logic Trae is worth about Coby White and a 1st.

We slowed the Mavericks offense down though and our offense led by Don shooting like 30% is the reason we lost, lol.
