Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Underachieving in the playoffs ain't fun. The Conley trade is why we underachieved.

Did you get a regular season champs banner? Did we? Does anybody give a **** about that?

Saying the Conley trade was a success because we were fun is the dumbest thing I might have ever seen on here.

Fun lol

lmao you truly miserable

It's funny as **** that you get triggered because people like one of the GOATS of the franchise and we arent excited about bench role players, but then you are all "only ringz matter".

So you only care about ringzzzz, but you trying to convince us to get excited about the scraps from a play in team?

Conley is the worst "good" move we made. Set us back years and frankly cost us Gobert to try to recoup something from a bad situation.

Ehh. We don’t really know that. I was and am of the position that the Jazz should’ve done something else but there wasn’t some home run sitting on the tee that we swung and missed on.

I would’ve went all-in on Tobias or Butler and filled out the roster by actually making good moves on the margins. But we don’t know if that would’ve worked. It’s actually more likely that the Jazz sniffed around on both and the intel wasn’t good. And say the Jazz max Tobias and he’s disappointing. Well, they keep Jae, Grayson, their picks, and maybe even Korver. Maybe they can take a swing on a trade later and it’s all good. Maybe that’s worse though.

I don’t think it’s at all obvious what should have been done, even with the benefit of hindsight.

Was it the best move possible? Probably not

But there are countless other bad moves that handicapped this team's potential exponentially worse than the Conley deal did. To keep bringing it up over things like drafting Udoka over Desmond Bane, trading a 1st round pick just to get off Favors contract, using a 1st round pick to get a single season of George Hill, losing Gordon Hayward for nothing, etc; is borderline psychotic behavior.

Is there anyone here who wants to keep Conley? Why is this being argued?
Because I overall liked the Conley deal and still think it was overall a good move so he thinks bringing it up over and over is some kind of "own" when his back is against the wall.

I hated the deal… but, I also don’t know what, if any, deals were available. If it was Conley vs. a versatile wing then it was horrible. But, maybe is was Conley or nothing? If so, at least they took a shot… and it didn’t work.

Those are far more egregious cases of asset mismanagement and they don’t require a deep analysis to reach that conclusion.

Lamelo already is worth more than Donovan. Probably by a decent amount.
To clarify since it seems the point of my question was missed.

The post I quoted said that ‘Melo is worth more than Ball’ and that didn’t make sense to me so I asked a clarifying question.

Yep. It didn't work. Somebody in here claims it was a success which is false. Same guy gets on here all the time telling other people they are wrong then lives a complete lie.

But many on here follow him blindly regardless.

Morale of the story - make smarter moves. It doesn't take genius to know you don't build around a tiny backcourt just like you don't build around a $40 million offensively limited rim protector. I'm glad we aren't pursuing Ayton. We need to play modern ball.

Only because of the years left of guaranteed team control.

I'm not anti-Ball, but I'm not ready to say he has a guaranteed better career than Donovan.

Make smarter moves… don’t build around a small backcourt…. Play modern ball…. So you are on board with trading Don?

Bruh, no one here "follows" me. I'm not a Jazzfanz cult leader.

What jazzfanz.com is in real life and what jazzfanz.com is inside Lopo's head seem to be at odds.

A tiny player is fine. Steph, Kyrie, Dame, etc those guys are good. You just can't add more size limited guys to that.
