The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I like Ayton as well. I'm not sure I want to spend that much money on a center though.
Yeah we already did that, and I am not convinced Ayton is any better than Rudy would have been.

102? What the ****

Insane game. Total of 9 3 pointers attempted between both teams when they combined for 316 points. Absolutely ZERO defense being played apparently. Might have to find that one to watch.

Every player on that hawks team not named Murray is a 7th option behind Trae , Murray , Trae , Trae , Trae , Trae , rest of team .
I love it when the team does a **** ton of stuff to keep their "star" happy and to compete... then the rumors are they need to turn things around or the star is going to ask out... isn't it the stars job to turn things around... Trae's next team will still have Trae so how's that gonna work out?

The guy I love from hawks is Hunter , the nba hasn’t seen how good this guy could be .

Hunter is a great defender for sure. He, JC and Capela are the main reasons Hawks defense has been really solid this year. Hawks fans seeem more frustrated with his offense than they are with JCs for some reason... despite JC having a bad numbers year.

This is disgusting. He shouldn't be allowed to play in the NBA after what he did.

I saw some comments about the woman he violenced was breaking into his house and stealing his dog or something? I dont think men should hit women but in some instances it could be warranted right? I saw a joke by comedian Bill Burr once discussing this and in the joke he made a scenario that you come home from work and your wife has lost it and is drowning your children in the tub. Would it be ok to hit her in that instance?

I guess I need more details. What kind of domestic violence. Did he push her? Yell at her? Or did he hit her and then kick her while she was down? What kind of damage was done? Did she go to the hosptital? Did he have any injuries from the altercation? Did she hit him with baseball bat and he hit her back?

I mean the fact he was convicted in court tells me that he was most likely in the wrong and I would agree that he shouldn't play in the nba anymore. At the same time if he was convicted in court and it was a pretty serious crime then wouldn't the judge have handed out a sentence that has him in a cell so he couldn't play anyways? It was a felony right? Dont felonies usually mean you go to jail? (maybe that isn't the case. IDK)

I was wondering when this would happen … a Friday afternoon before Christmas is the perfect time to bury this in the news cycle. This whole thing feels icky.

I was thinking the same thing about the timing, it was definitely intentional. I remember thinking when this first happened that his career was over because no NBA team would touch him after this...guess I should have known better.

Went through some more comments

"Assault by strangulation, Brain concussion; Closed fracture of nasal bone; Contusion of rib; Multiple bruises; Strain of neck muscle"

Yikes

Some pictures were released of his wife's face after it happened, and it was pretty ugly. A lot of cuts, bruises and scratches.

They let Kobe Bryant back in the NBA and everyone LIONIZED that MFer. I can't see how this is worse.
What does LIONIZED mean? Is that something that is positive from Kobe's perspective or negative from Kobe's perspective.

I feel like Kobe's reputation is fantastic. Everyone seems to love him. Despite the accusation against him. (I dont think he was convicted iirc and maybe thats why the incident didn't hurt his reptutation. Or maybe its just the fact that he died that has everyone loving him and thinking positively about him. IDK)

Lionized means that he is literally a basketball God on Earth as far as the media is concerned. Let's be clear, if he was a player of Bridges' stature and didn't play for the Lakers, things would have turned out differently for him.
