Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Kennard at 14 million isn't really a bad contract. It is actually really, really flippable at that number. His last year is a club option too. I don't put that in the same bucket as Robinson who really is a bad contract that is likely untradeable without dumping assets.
On a scale of 1-10 how much better is Kennard than Beasley?

Right… Allen’s deal isn’t bad either. Luke the issue is will he hold up? I wouldn’t be acquiring him to flip him… Mayne not even Robinson… you just make them more functional and if a deal comes along then go for it.

I have loved the big trades we’ve done and hated most of the small ones… guessing I will not like what we do.

Nothing can really match the disappointment of the Bogey for KO swap to me so I’m prepared for anything. I have a sneaking suspicion that we will be pleasantly surprised. I will also throw out a prediction that if we make a trade either myself or yourself brought it up or a variation of it for discussion at one point beforehand.

I mean how bold is that though... we done fake traded every damn player by now!!!

The Bev THT deal really puzzled me too... Bogey we are all still looking for the second round picks we are owed. I could see the Bogey deal and why they did it (even though I definitely hated it). Ainge wanted his guy, Ryan wanted to save some dough, and we needed a center... I would have preferred a salary dump with a few second round picks attached than what we did though... as it would have solidified the tank.

Interesting. Duncan Robinson's contract has been talked about a lot, but it is so painful thinking of 3.5 more years (last only half guaranteed at least) if he can't rehabilitate his role a bit in the trade. We do have a decent cap window with Lauri/Kessler for the next 2.5 years, but a bench-warming Duncan would fill up a lot of that.

A 4th pick this year isn't great, but there is a real chance that Miami ends up in the play-in and then all bets are off for a potential lottery pick.

Can someone explain to me why the Suns would want to swap Paul for Lowry? I’m pretty sure the report said they’re looking for a PG as a succession plan not a replacement plan.
They'd get 2 years younger /s

But yeah, no way the Suns do a swap of Lowry for Paul. Chris started rough this season, but has been playing a bit better and is still a pacemaker for that team when they are healthy

I think its big for them to get JC and Vando though. It is pretty wonky.

Can someone explain to me why I keep hearing folks say that Sexton is not available because he is integral to our future? Am I the only one who is not convinced? Laurie and Walker for sure and probably Ochai at this point are on my protected list. If we end up keeping Sexton that is fine but it wouldn't bother me a bit for him to get traded. I am a long way from being convinced that he is our PG of the future. What am I missing?

Who is saying that? I think just about anyone would be fine with dealing him if it was a good trade for us.

I definitely don't think he's the PG of the future but I wouldn't trade him either. IMO he's exactly the type of bench scorer every team needs. Not all building blocks have to be starters.

The trouble is that I don't think Sexton himself will ever really accept a bench role. He might not have a choice in the long run, though. I can't see any team starting him at this point.
