Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Olynyk/Gay for Robinson/Jovic/1st works perfectly. It’s about 152K difference in salary. I would move Beasley and Vanderbilt after that as well.
I don't care too much about Jovic if we got a 2028 1st that is either unprotected or top 4 or it rolls to 2029 and is unprotected then I am good.

I think they would want to put Dedmon in the deal and get a little further away from the tax this year... they can sign a minimum guy that way.

I like Jovic. Would definitely like to get him added. My preference would be a 2028 or 2029 1st as well but I would also like their first this year with Jovic.

Larsen brought it up like 3 times that the Jazz arent high on Sexton.

Says one of Utah's goals at the deadline might be getting assets with more long-term control so they can flip them.

Also he said again that Utah promised Bogey they would trade him. Probably the most outright matter of fact way he has stated that to date.
Well if he keeps playing this well they should probably update their position. Also go ahead and trade him I guess if there is some value to be had.

I have not followed the rumors closely, but I can't see why NOP would want to move on from Herb Jones unless it's in a deal for OG. They need him badly.

I haven't heard any rumors on that... I just put 2 and 2 together that if they got OG I think Herb is part of the value going out... just not sure they'd have the playing time for all those guys. If it was Herb, Grahamn, and the Lakers pick in 2024 out for OG that would makes sense. It would make sense to me that Raps might prefer another pick to Jones... we provide the pick and get Jones.

Its 100% fabricated nonsense by me... but I like it and now it has to happen. Thank you.

Bones makes a ton of sense on Minny. Might not work, but he's going to be super cheap the next 2.5 years, which is something Minny needs. Cant really afford much else. Also of course Tim Connelly is the dude who drafted Bones...
What? When I said Denver wants to get rid of him being a bad sign this is what you answered.
1. They are trying to win now bud. Developing 2nd year players isn't great for that
So according to this Minny is not trying to win now... bud.

Yeah, I would think they'd sooner move off Dyson Daniels than Herb Jones. They have a long window overall if they make moves to change the roster, but they wont be as talented as they currently are.

If they want to maximize the current roster, they need to make moves. Selling on guys like Dyson makes sense to me. They also need to sell on CJ, but that cant this season cuz of the extension, but that's going to be a mediocre contract for the next two years. They would be better off with Mike Conley than CJ McCollum this season IMO.

New Orleans is one of those teams were the headline should be that they are looking for a PG IMO. They should want Mike Conley.

Heat interested in KO apparently. I just think Duncan Robinson is going to be a Jazzman at some point here and we all need to be cool with it. We can fix him... it will be a comeback/redemption story for the ages.
Robinson's problem is that the perception of these "sharpshooters" has changed quickly around the league. It's not enough anymore to just put up shots. Case in point, Malik Beasley... sure you'll have a job somewhere, but you won't be making the (relatively) big bucks anymore if you're that one-dimensional. Bertans is another guy like that.

It's not surprising Max Strus took Robinson's minutes. He can defend and do some other stuff too.

Less so than Denver. Minny is probably peaking 2 years from now with their current roster.

Herb seems like a guy TOR would be all over. Generally, I think getting a young player that the team likes is one of the hardest guys to get in the league. Can't see why NOP wouldn't like what they're getting from Herb.

The TOR player I'm watching, either in a trade or as a FA target down the road, is Siakam. I haven't wrapped my head around what Siakam might look like with Lauri and Kessler, especially as he ages, but he is a "gettable" player I will be keeping an eye on.

He would fit the pattern of the Jazz picking up guys I wanted us to draft at the time. First Paschall (not a great success). Then THT (jury’s still out). Now Herb. Make it happen!
Also it’s clear the Jazz should just let me draft for them. Which means go straight for Anthony Black this year.

Watching the Raptors yesterday.. I dont really see anyone who I absolutely would love to have who is on the block.. but is there someone hidden who could be a fit?

OG would be my top choice if it wasnt for his contract and the apparent bidding war for his services. Obviously they missed him a lot yesterday.. rare to see a team play with such high effort and still suck so bad defensively.

I bet they are selling at high prices though.

I think Duncan also got yanked around with playing time and role. I think he is a much better player than Bertans. I just think Herro kinda took the running off screen actions from Duncan and he lost his confidence/rhythm and never got it back. he will never be worth his contract, but I think in a consistent bench role he could be effective for 20-25 minutes. The pick is the big thing... just aren't a lot of salary dump trades out there these days and that is the real prize.

I think they are committed to the Zion is a pg kinda and CJ is a pg kinda model. I'm not sure its ideal but we haven't seen healthy Zion/BI/CJ... if they were flanked by Trey and OG I think its likely pretty effective.

Did you watch the game last night? Toronto needs to change from the "big forwards that can defend but can't shoot" model. Project 6'9" is a fail.

For NO they need shooting so swapping Herb (27% from 3 this year) for OG is awesome.
