Bolmaro waived according to Shams-

Good energy doesn't make you a good defender.

He has a negative career DBPM and averages 4 fouls and 5 fouls per 36min in the two seasons he's played. Rudy by comparison, averages around 3 fouls per 36 during his time in a jazz uniform and he plays center.
The man played nothing but garbage minutes and you are quoting advanced stats?

Last year in Minny where he actually got some non-garbage minutes his DBPM was a -0.7 which is really good for a rookie. He had defensive upside.

and yet it was his outside shot that got him drafted. funny how that was his worst skill after the draft compared to before it.
Que?

He got drafted because they thought he was a 6'6 do it all type secondary playmaker who *just* needed to improve his shooting.

But it turns out he was just really bad at every aspect of scoring, including getting his shot off.

pretty much sounds right. But unless I was mistaken, he killed it at workouts with his outside shooting.

So you saying advance stats shouldn't count when a guys only playing garbage minutes then you immediately quote his -0.7DBPM(which isn't good for a rookie BTW) he recorded his rookie year when he only played garbage minutes for the wolves?

And I think I explained this well enough. Him not getting anything more than garbage minutes is 100% on him. The guy has some good energy but his discipline and technique are terrible. There were games where he would get caught with 2 quick fouls in less than 5 minutes which left his coach with no choice but to send him back to the bench.

He started some games for the WOlves. He had less garbage minutes in his rookie year than this year, which was only garbage minutes. If you dont think -.7 DBPM is good for a rookie you are smoking crack.

"For a rookie". Is he still a rookie now? Can he stay a rookie forever? His defense is "good" when you lower the standard, which again proves my point. None of his skillsets translate well when you compare him with a standard NBA player.

Interesting that they would make this move right after Conley is traded and Sexton injures his hamstring. THT will be the starter until Sexton is back, but we're going to need someone to fill the backup point guard minutes.

That is likely what this is about. Wonder what is out there.

Man, you are a blabbering moron.

Leandro is not seeing the floor because of his offense, not defense. If he was able to get on the court, his defense would be a positive.

Based on what? I based my statement 100% on his actual games and stats. Your statement is based on... his "chaotic energy"? Well, I'm telling you his "chaotic energy" gets him into foul trouble and negative impact for his team defensively.

-0.7 DBPM might be OK for a rookie but he's not a rookie any more. Judge him as an actual NBA player.

It's just kind of odd, the front office just traded away 3 starting caliber players in Conley, Vando and Beasley, and another rotation level player in NAW. They clearly don't care at all about winning games the rest of the season, and in all honesty would probably prefer to lose as much as possible. So why not just roll with Bolmaro in the backup point guard spot for a few games until Sexton gets back?

IDK... maybe they have a more devious plan or a guy they want to take a look at. Could be a lot of reasons but if they knew Bolmaro was someone they wanted to waive maybe they want someone in before AS to acclimate. There could be a few reasons to do this... we will see what the follow up is.

I'm guessing they want to find someone on a cheap multi-year deal who will be a good squad player. Bolmaro wasn't it, so you look elsewhere.

Damian Jones is intriguing, gotta say. He does look quite a lot like Brandon Clarke out there. Find guys like that you can get on multi-year team-option deals (like Royce, back in the days) who all of a sudden are good rotational pieces even in the playoffs. That has real value.

Besides, they now have an exact number on the luxury tax line, so there is no downside in terms of flexibility anymore.
It may have been something to right after the trade deadline but you wait until the road trip is over to avoid some awkwardness.

Yeah, agreed, but they're back home now, right? It hasn't even been announced yet, so it doesn't feel like a crazy bad timing to me.
