Dunn deal is done

I think they just brought guys to evaluate so that they can also buy time to look around.

Bolmaro asked out and they didnt know what Westbrook was gonna do so all of this was not by design.

The trade and those moves also made us thin at guard (down to Sexton, JC, THT, Ochai and Juzang).
Bolmaro asked out? Didn't hear about it. Was it because he didn't want to play for the Stars ?

I can't remember the waiver claim process off the top of my head. I would bet SA is still under the floor and claims him. Saves Orlando money and is essentially free for the Spurs. Miami does this type of stuff when ducking the tax...

I am guessing we would have know RJ is getting waived and also may have known which team is claiming him... but maybe not. I certainly would take a flier on him over these guys.

I’m not sure the exact amount but we would be extremely close to the tax if we claimed him. Might push us into the tax not sure how much he’s still owed.

2.4M and we likely got some room with Russ... we'd be good. We will see where he ends up.

he's not good. don't get me wrong, i'm fine with the jazz picking him up, but you guys saying the jazz are buying low (i mean, of course they are - they are buying a used yugo) or that he was drafted into a bad situation, the jazz are a year late (he was just as bad a year ago) etc - are as blind as my fellow byu fan homers about jimmer who make every excuse in the book about why he didn't work out. dunn has been given plenty of opportunities for multiple organizations and the only constant is that he can't play. he's even been mediocre in the g league. hell, at least jimmer was good in the g league. dunn can't even claim that much.

He’s a great guy when you have a team full of the laziest perimeter defenders in the modern era and you need a guy you can throw out there for 15 minutes to at least make a guard have to work a little bit for his 40 points. On this team that role doesn’t really mean anything, but a lot of roles on this team don’t really mean anything so whatever.

I think he was drafted into a bad situation and then traded to another bad situation.
Bad situation? Yeah right...

Thibs took one look at him in Minny and knew he sucked balls despite being a high pick. That was it. Dunn had no future there so he was sent to Chicago, where the FO had to pretend he was a rising star or something to justify the Butler trade. They handed him the ball, lit the green light and hoped for the best. Didn't take long for him to be out of the league.

Just a gigantic bust.

It's a Dunn deal. Good move. Low cost addition with a chance of becoming a decent rotation player. Already much better than the players that ride the pine all game for us.

Kris Dunn had some kind of a upswing years ago before it got interrupted, when he landed on his face after a dunk In Chicago and fractured a jawbone - EDIT: I think it might have been just teeth broken though.... Always makes me wonder how much that affected - sometimes getting hurt in a good situation cuts it down and never get the same touch back. With worse luck he might have permanently injured in that fall. I really though he would have had better career even with his outside shooting being bad. I would not mind having him in the depth just bc he is a team player and Lauri also seemed to have good relationship with him.

Even if its jus the G-league... His shooting seems better than before. If he can be 35+ from downtoen we could have a use for him off the bench. Even on the becoming season. I wish he can redeem himself. He is a nice dude. And good that someone comes here and shows some hustle and defense.

Huh, another one of my Providence guys, Bryce Cotton’s teammate. Great defender, be good on a championship level team needing someone to shut down a hot shooter. Can’t shoot, though, and he does seem injury prone. I expected better of him when drafted, but I wish him luck here….

Sir that's a sample size of like 46 threes lmfao.

That’s the thing we’re currently 782K shy of the luxury tax.
Didn’t realize that’s where we were… thought we had like 6M in space there… also would depend on Russ buyout amount.
