A dunking Kyle Anderson with better defense. He looks like he's a past prime Lebron with a little bit slowness. That's still a good player. I think fit and supportive system will help him a lot. His improvement in shooting in the Gleague puts me over the moon for this guy.

I don't see the Kyle Anderson comp at all in how they look/move etc. He may be used as a secondary creator like Kyle but I think he might have better scoring chops. Kyle is also a wonderful defender.

For some reason, he seems to stick to the floor - straight line explosion yes but there seems to be a lack of shiftiness and that is kind of like Kyle. He is super young, so maybe he adds more wiggle to his game. Or he hasn't needed it yet. What am I - a twitter scout lol?

i'd call myself a Flip fan - i don't have a board (waste of time as it changes too much between now and mid-June), but i have him around 20 or so.

Appreciate it... when he turns out to be Henry Ellenson 2.0 I will go easy

I just think he's the exact type of tweener that struggles to make it in the league. Not good enough as a shooter to be a stretch big and can't protect the rim. He's a third big type imo and there is no way I'd have him over the 6 guys you listed 15-20... might have another 10 I'd prefer.

He is more Kelly Olynyk than Henry Ellenson my friend. He could play next to Lauri at the 4 with Lauri at the 5 for spurts.

The numbers say he's not... even if that is what he becomes... I'm going to aim higher.

And I know the relative value of picks and KO might be above average... yada yada yada... I'm taking a bigger swing because if you hit it out of the park its a huge deal. If you miss on the next KO and take a bust... you can go out and buy a KO in FA or in a trade pretty easily.

I don't know if my ranking makes me a fan or not.....but I do kinda like him and this is the tier of players I have him in. He would be at #22 on my board:

20-22 sounds about right, but I still see him as more of a Plumlee. Tall big man that has enough skills to linger in the league for many years but will never be a star.

Ellenson is good he just needs a chance! (kidding, but maybe not I loved me some Henry Ellenson).

I think these are fair concerns about Filipowski. I think he's more like Hartenstein. A little bigger, tougher, and more active than Ellenson. I think he has some potential to be an even better offensive player than Hartenstein and similar to Christian Wood, but that probably can't happen because it's not a white/white I mean apples to apples comparison.

I'm still kinda surprised Ellenson didn't pan out. If he was reincarnated and in this draft again I would probably bet on him making it again, but like you said it just doesn't always work out that way. I agree that Filipowski is much more similar to Ellenson than Olynyk out of college.

The draft isn't a perfect science and it's always good to remind yourself of that.
